You should have no problem taking an advil for a headache, no side effects pain relief, doesn't hurt the planet and costs little. I don't see a counter argument, anywhere.
If we're gonna talk about anti-biotics and their overuse thats a whole different story, but it involves cows and over medication more than people. I don't believe all people should be medicated out of their minds for a mental disorder that they may or may not have, but saying you shouldn't pop an advil or tylenol for a headache is quite frankly, idiotic.
Yea I agree with this. I was trying to think of a good way of saying what I wanted to say before I posted about this drug thing. I think lumping headache medicine, antibiotics, and drugs that treat mental disorders into one evil category of being unnatural is pretty silly. I also don't know of anyone "dependent" on advil or tylenol, it's not like it's crack... unless you're meaning dependency as in, I have a headache, let me grab some advil to get rid of it, in which case I don't see a problem with it. I don't think lying down and waiting for a headache to subside instead of taking a pill is any better...
As far as psychological drugs, I think those are normally used in conjuncture with therapy, not as a substitute.
And antibiotics... aren't bad... I don't know much about it to be honest, last time I had a serious throat infection the first time I went to the doctors, they didn't give me antibiotics because apparently next time they wouldn't work as well or something, but I couldn't eat or sleep more than 2 hours, so I went back the next day and got them.
It seems like you're lumping all medicine into a popping pills category and demonizing it completely as unnatural and somehow unhealthy... which as a bottom line I think is very silly.
Also when I've said you or you're in this post I'm referring to glaiel and wurmy I think.
