Ooooh, I remember Snubby :D
I think... it was quite a while ago now.
I believe Snubby was somewhat of a regular, I remember him quite a bit. Not necessarily in the lounge, but replying to animation-related topics and such.
... Anywho, I'm probably off to see The Dark Knight this evening. :D
Lucky, I want to see that film soon, you know it's rated first... of ALL TIME on IMDB currently!
Inglor > Snubby.
We love you, Inglor. Come back </3

MSI FTW. Anyway, it looks pretty good, but I couldn't really tell from the small part of actual lip syncing.

Freeonlinegames.com
I have heard alot of bad talk about them as a sponsor.
Evidently they ask for .fla then brand it with there logo, remove anything that shows the original developer worked on it, and change whatever they want in the game all this without the developers permission.
Now my question is if you give a sponsor the .fla does that give them the right to do whatever they want to the flash or is doing any of the above without the developer's permission considered a breach in contract?
:'(
RE: Sponsor
I guess the internet is pretty open to law, so to be safe I would make my own contract and include this specifically if I was that worried.

NO! I LOVE YOUUUU!!!!!!

I mean I know good sponsorship deals but some developers avoid sites like armorgames and crazymonkeygames because they really hurt the business of smaller flash sites.
I was asking because some of these smaller sites might be more likely to break a contract.

Dark Knight Review
It's great.
IMAX Review
In my humble opinion watching it in IMAX didn't add a whole lot to the film.

Have you ever considered becoming a full time film critic?

This is not always true, some sponsors offer what is called primary sponsorship, this calls for the game being sponsored, links back to their site, and ownsership over the source code most likely for them to create a seqaul themselves or to re-skin the game. It's a dieing type of sponsorship as far as I know, and I'm really against it personally, unless it's a smaller project that you'll never create a sequel to or something along those lines. The sponsorship should also be paying you a lot more for such a deal compared to an exclusive sponsorship.

Wha...Wha?! Did we watch the same movie?! Personally, I've never seen a movie with so much depth or clarity in my life, and I seriously hope more filmmakers take advantage of the IMAX format. IMAX film format uses 70 mm film as opposed to the regular 35 mm film so the higher resolution is incredibly noticeable - it even looks better downgraded to 35 mm too -

Trust me, I know about all the technicalities. The difference between both formats was barely noticeable, if at all. Sure it was a big-ass screen, but I couldn't say when we were watching a shot shot on IMAX film or regular film, neither could my 3 mates. I'm starting to think that maybe the theatre messed up, or watching HD-films spoiled me, I don't know. I wasn't that impressed by the visuals, and this was the first (partial) IMAX film I've ever seen.
It didn't matter though, because the movie was brilliant.
Live cam at the con
So I've been chilling on the cam for a bit at 5 AM eastern time, Luis and the guys are having a pretty decent time it seems for just lounging. I've some straddling, heard some interesting conversations, good times. You should all join in on the fun. I also feel very unloved, I apparently don't make myself well known enough around here hehe.
RE: Cam
Meh, I've been trying to watch it now and then but it's so dodgy and always disconnects for me... also whenever I catch them they're either sitting around a hotel room or offline..... so not much fun. :P
Anniversary
So, I'm approaching my 5 year anniversary. Kind of intese.

You have been warned.
Batman dies at the end.
Yay I just came back from seeing the Dark Knight. I know countless posts were made about it but i feel special. I went there with great expectations about the movie from all the positive comments I read and those expectations were fufilled.

Okay, it's understandable that maybe your theater messed up because it should've been seriously noticeable when it changed to IMAX format. Namely, since it's 70 mm, it's a square format so it would've taken up the entire screen during those sequences and then changed back to the smaller widescreen during the 35 mm. And for the record, HD's got nothin' on the IMAX res.
The movie was incredible, that's just a fact, but watching it on the big screen is a whole hell of a lot better than watching it on a regular movie screen. Because everything else just feels...normal after you've seen it in IMAX.
If I'm coming off a like a big ol' dick, i'm not trying to, I'm just really interested in the whole IMAX format and the fact that Nolan was the first to use it in a regular feature film. Anybody who couldn't notice it, especially tech-minded people like us here at NG, just boggles my mind.
always behind schedule.
So, what is the most noobish thing you guys have ever done in flash (before you were where you are today)
Mine : I was trying to make some dots disappear over time so instead of using a shape tween, I made a square that had an alpha of 0 that matched the color of the backround and over 10 frames, I increased the alpha until I got to 100, and then made a blank keyframe.
lol

Well, I guess I found the problem then, because it didn't. I was wondering whether or not the screen format was going to change during playtime, because I knew IMAX was square and the regular format (probably 2,35:1) is widescreen. I thought it would be distracting. However, during the film the format never changed, it continually filled up the entire screen. I'm going to look into this...
RE: Noobish Thing in Flash
I once made a 30sec timer by making text a movieclip and creating a new frame inside of it for each .1 second..
This was before I knew about getTimer()
:'(

RE: Dark Knight
Blah blah amazing fantastical astonishing. It really was great. We have an IMAX theatre here, but I saw it on a normal screen anyways (person I was with wasn't big on seeing it in the first place). IMAX movies are very cool though.
On a side note, at the theatre in the mall here (West Edmonton Mall, biggest in North America), above the concession stand in the middle is a giant red dragon. Every maybe 20-30 minutes, some music starts up and builds and gets louder, and then after a few minutes the dragon starts moving and then it breaths a big fireball. A real fireball. It was hot from a good 40-50 feet away. It is one of the coolest things I've ever seen.
RE: Dark Night
I thought the joker's acting was phenominal, but i also felt the storyline dragged on after a while.
