So let me get this straight, the SS finally start making good flash movies and this is what broke up the group?

This is ridiculous. I'm on f00d's side on this one. While I don't know exactly what happened or if he was "overbearing" as a leader, I still think it's retarded that people got upset over the fact that he started putting up good flash movies for the Daily Toons.

Also, for those saying that shitty flash movies was the Star Syndicate's calling card, therefore shouldn't have changed, really you weren't original in that area either. The Clock Crew started out with shitty flash and eventually got better, but they still have shitty movies made in their honour that pass. Just look at Clock Day. Making shitty movies pass was original when StrawberryClock did it, now it's just lame and like beating a dead horse. The Star Syndicate was original with the Daily Toons. Making it just shitty spammy flashes EVERY DAY OF THE YEAR is pretty fucking lame and that's why I lost interest in them from the beginning. It was only later that they became better quality that I started giving them another chance. It's too bad that the ignorant members couldn't see the benefit of having better movies showcased on Daily Toons (even if short and simple) and actually entertaining people, rather than just pissing them off and dismissing the Star Syndicate as nothing more than a copycat crew that spams bad flash movies.

Nah as I said, I just dismissed the SS and stopped watching Daily Toons when they were bad. I wasn't pissed off by the flash so much as they were passing, even if it was as crappy as a blank flash movie. It was only when I saw a Daily Toon get a user's choice award that it deserved, that I gave the SS another chance for a while.

2: Some people (like me) are entertained by spam movies, some times even more than quality ones.

Yeah keyword "some" most of whom are SS members who are only entertaining themselves by pissing people off. Also, I don't mind poorly made movies that are entertaining and don't expect every Daily Toon to be a masterpiece considering the amount of time between each one. It's just that flashing lights, ear piercing sounds and the same stupid jokes over and over again get really boring and annoying. You can have a simple flash and still make it entertaining, so don't give me this "made us work our ass off" crap either. There's a balance between outright spammy shitty flash movies designed only to annoy that would only pass through mass voting and ones that are almost as simple, yet have entertaining qualities.

Well, I always thought it would be great to Join a flash Group on Newgrounds, and the Star Syndicate was that group. Only one problem: I've never been able to do anything decent with Flash. So, as the Months go by, I will continue to suck At Flash, but eventually I'll make something Alright-ish (But not too Good, I'll only have 30 days after all.) If at that time the Syndicate has reformed, I would love to request my short peice be thrown in with a toon. While It's all very unlikely, For multiple reasons, all that you shouldv'e figured out by now, but a Guy can dream Can't He?

Reason for ban: Do not as for pirated copies of programs. <3 Enoll << Thanks for the love. <3

I don't get it. Food wanted to improve the quality of the flash animations. Fatbadger wanted to be an idiot and go back to it's roots, just when things were finally falling into place. How is this Food's fault?

You guys are weird..

Well i didn't really watch the daily toons that much. The few that i did watch though were funny and annoying at the same time. Even though i didn't really like the Star Syndicate's toons it is always a shame to see a series with some fans to go:(
Sry to hear about the issues.

Those of you with no experience on NG or its history, those with a sign up date within a year, and especially those who weren't in the SS, Listen up.

When you judge the Star Syndicate, the 100s of collaborations it made, the chance it gave to un-exposed animators, the ideas and change it offered for NG, or the many other aspects, ask yourself this question:

What have you contributed to newgrounds?

I came here when I was in 7th grade, because me and some friends were starting a flash website and this was a huge inspiration to us. I joined the SS in early febuary of 06, because I remember the onlything on NG that really made me laugh, were some of the dailytoons I had seen, and I was just turning 13.

Now I'm older, and I'm glad I joined, even if it was a little late. I look at all of the groups on NG, and the one that stands out, and always will, is the Star Syndicate.

They had power like no other group, the power to open people's eyes to un-originality, and effortless flash cartoons. This obviously wasnt what 5, 6 or 7 had originally intetnded, seeing as they didn't even have flash back in 04. But look at series like "TooF", something that we proved could be made in a few hours by anyone, and when we flooded the portal with parodies, many fans were angry, but many realized the truth. And because of this, the next two episodes got no exposure, as they shouldn't, and Logo's effortless series fell.

The SS contributed more than any other group to NG, if everyone who posted in this thread could finally realize that, trust me, there would be a MUCH broader response.

So please answer my question, and see if you can possibly compare yourself to what the SS is and was.

It's always better to contribute nothing than to contribute shit. I liked some of the SS submissions, granted, it's kinda hard not to like a few of 250 (not counting extra's) submissions. But most of it was effortless crap.
You already had the fanbase. Now you just needed to expand on it, look Food apparently wanted to do. Why not? What the hell is the point in making crap on purpose? That's just bullshit. You want to prove the B/P voting system isn't fair. Ok. How do you do it? Well certainly NOT by taking ADVANTAGE of the fault within it.
And besides, the unfairity of the B/P system is the biassedness of the voters, not some kind of flaw in the code. So proving it is nice and all, but what's the point? What can you really do about idiots voting stupidly just because their favorite authors appear to be in it? What's the point in that?
There is, however, a point in helping out others with their flash movies. If that was you purpose, then that's a good one. But abusing the system to show it's abusable while there isn't anything that can be done about it's abusibility is just pointless and stupid, timewasting, unfair and most of all a waste of bandwidth.

Seriously, people who contribute nothing do a better job than those contributing crap, because atleast they aren't wasting their own time on it.

...It sucks dick like hell to see a good group go. We've already had to witness the death of Piconjo and now this. You guys did some great stuff, Zekey whenever I saw your name on a flash I knew it would be great as well as Revrents first class work. It's true that lately the SS has been slacking. It's getting boring as hell to watch fat badger fly towards the screen whilst some stupid anime theme plays only to reveal the film consists of 5 static images by different animators, it's great when you watch a piconjo jam or a coolboyman collection and know that every button will hold a hillarious flash but you guys lost it. The Zerostarz post on the 3rd page (I think) seemed to me like the truth, I don't know much about the situation but internal conflict is a baaad thing, thats why the Piconjo Posse is still up and running even though we haven't made movies in ages, because we all get along. Even if the SS splits I hope you all keep making flash.

I have a hard time understanding you. I liked your Flashes back before you joined the SS. Then I still liked your actual Flashes, I just really think the stupidity made by the SS wasn't worth a dime. You wasted time you could have poured into making quality flash (which we all know you can do).

Someone brought up a really good point.

What have you (you being most of the people in the thread that are not artists) contributed to newgrounds? SS was the first for a lack of a better word "break" for many artists. Now, I am not a big fan of some of their flashes, but they were an asset to newgrounds and very underappreciated.

I think a better solution than simply killing off SS would have been a split off of some sort.

I suggest that some of the old members restart SS. And when I say old members I mean hardcore dedicated ones, the founders. Step out of the ashes. If there is to be another SS, it has to have its roots.

To the members of SS that wanted higher quality flashes:
I suggest that you take the rest of the SS that was like minded and form a seperated group. After all, you are the people that deviated from what the SS clearly was.

Either way, I am sure either group could do well if it only tried to.
