We have some people who put Flash on NG and then complain they get nothing in return. Their problem is they don't know how to make Newgrounds work for them. Other people have figured it out and have done very well. Some people even now have sites with MORE traffic than Newgrounds because they pu ttheir content on Newgrounds which sent traffic to their site, and their site took off.
Now if you suck at Flash, you may not be able to make money. However, anyone who is talented with Flash and can make content people want to see, can build a site, run their own ads, sell their own merchandise (DVD's, t-shirts, etc), and make some money. The more content the put on NG, the more traffic they will get coming back to their site.
NG benefits from their content attracting people to Newgrounds, and they benefit by getting traffic back to their site from the mass exposure their content gets on Newgrounds. If they didn't have Newgrounds, or a site like it, they would have a hard time getting noticed on the web.
Only t5he staff members make their living off NG. Users don't make livings, but they make money every so often.
