I don't think an imposed Judgement system would solve these problems, at least, not immediately. Read my above post for the reasoning behind my opinion. However, I do believe this should be discussed further.

The problem with the voting system on the audio portal has been discussed serveral times and suggestions have already been made on the thread above. It's true that the audio portal holds a LOT of shitty audio submission. There is also a big amount of stolen songs that passed "judgement".

The regular audio forum members are giving their best to search for illegal submission and bring them to light. I really don't know if the "mods" recieve a message or delete these submissions directly if a couple of people [x] the submission because I seen submission that are still on the site even the fact that it has been [x] clicked for several times.

There is no equation between the flash and the audio portal...

I am an Audio Forum regular, I was just gone for a while. I've actually been on the Audio Portal just as long as you have, but I don't remember you being in the Forums at all when I was a regular. Don't act like you have the authority to flame people just because you're an Audio Forum regular. You tell me not to post my suggestions in this thread, and yet you continue on with yours. That thread you linked to is as good as dead.

For once, a post that pertains to the Audio Portal is posted as a news thread for ALL TO SEE. I think it is important to discuss the AP in threads like these so that we can inform people like this guy:

Absolutly gangsta, I've always thought of the audio portal as one of the more under rated parts of newgrounds. Updates are always good.

LoL...can't take a joke ey? ;) I am a regular there too and like you I was a bit away from the forums, none the less the thread I linked won't be dead dude. If you really checked it out you would know that this will be the thread the admins gonna visit for some inspiration when they are gonna make the changes for the audio portal....SOO...it would be a good thing if you would post your suggestions there as well. ;)

What was announced is a simple problem with a simple solution.

I can use other threads to take care of the bigger problems.

Wow, the thought of NG running out of space has never occured to me. :D

Yeah I am glad NG is growing also just hope without mean people on the audio/flash portal! I Hope they get this fixed soon I had a beautiful Violen music I played and recorded and added in cool effects!

OK everyone keeps talking about putting the same judgement system into the audio portal but there are reasons why it would not work right now

1. There are not enough people wo go to the audio portal
2. People don't want to go because they dont get points so they only vote on flash so they can become uber-1337 when it comes to rank
3. If they do go here they might not return due to all the crap that is on the audio portal

but...

NG could start a new system of judges who can decide if songs can get in or can't. Judges could be made up of users who care about the well being of the audio portal and if they start acting like pricks and deleting anything that comes in the rest of the judges could decide to kick him/her out.

heres how it could be set up
-100 judges(or something it depends on how often all of them are on, more/less might need to be made if the songs are taking to long to get thru)
-each song to get in must have 3 judges vote on it for a pass or a fail(no numbers in this part)
-what ever the majority of those judges vote is what happens
-then the song is ready to go into the audio portal

another idea with the judges is that they must also review each of the audio so the artist knows how to improve while with the audo portal today i have seen a few artists with no reviews just because they get a 0 or 1 and nobody thinks of looking at it because it sucks wich in turn will only hurt the artist because he/she will not know how to improve and make more songs that will go to the bottom of the audio portal.

I have been thinking about this way for awhile and I cant think of anything thats wrong with it except the number of judges because i have no idea how much stuff gets put on the audio portal each day but the number of judges could easily be changed.

(also with this system you could let judges nominate for awards)

Audio is becoming more popular! Cool, although that sucks too because I can't upload my new track. Since audio is becoming popular, maybe it should get as many features as flash does. Then again, newgrounds is made for flash and not really audio. I still hope they give you points for voting and visiting the audio page, as well as making collabin easier to show. We audio artist are important too :(
