Well, first off.... have you missed ANY deposits at all during that range? If so, that would explain part of it.

Secondly, anything's possible. Maybe everyone in the 1400-1500 range while you were jammed up in it was another active user like you, and the gap between old idle users was great for awhile, so you were hardly making any progress.

And finally, hitting a level and ranking up a bunch at the same time's kinda a coincidence, unless a bunch of people decided to stop depositing right at that level mark under the new redesigned levels/icons because they like it a lot and want to keep it or something.

Even so, if I was going to do that I wouldn't stop depositing right at the START of the level, unless the exp number was really cool (like 12340 exactly or something).

But anyway, interesting...

Simple question for you - are you depositing every single day? If you are, then there's nothing to worry about, as you're gaining experience as fast as possible. If not, then there's a good reason why you're not gaining ranks - you're passing some inactive users, but other, more active users are passing you.

MTE when I was reading the first part of your post. Also, I had to check the timestamps to find out how far apart we'd posted. 30 minutes seems like a lot, but it's the lazy long portion of the middle of a weekend night for me. WHAT'S YOUR EXCUSE, guy from the future (i.e. eastward across a large ocean from me, and already well into mid-day Sunday)?!? #;-}>

I haven't missed a single deposit since November I think, and that's 1 deposit missed in over 4 or 5 months I think. But I'm slowly but steadily gaining ranks now. I jumped 2 from last night. The thing that really is starting to jump now is my bp points rank. I'm gaining like 6 or 7 spots a day with that. But either way I'm happy, I just want to be in the top 1000 for both of them eventually.

Yea, I farm Anal Penguins. Do something about it.

I finally made it in to the top 300 users!

I was stuck on #301 for at least 2 weeks.
Or at least that is what it felt like.

Yeah, for some reason, there appears to be a glut just above 300 that you'll pass quite quickly. It took me about a month to gain 30 places, so you should be able to do that as well

It's going to take awhile to pass me when I miss LESS than one deposit a year on average.

And two of them were from June 2003 when I was out of town and the person who was going to deposit for me couldn't get into my account.

So really, I've only missed 2 deposits due to my own direct fault. That's 2 in 5 years. 4 in 10 years. 10 every 25 years. Do you still like your chances? #;-}>

So obvisouly, I'm destined to defeat you in this particular duel.

As is, indeed, prophesied in the book of NG prophecies, which was written by the greatest NG oracle of all, olskoo. As you must surely know, his last, doomed prophecy, just before disapearing from NG forever, was:

"The time of great evil shall come again, after the two great guardians Shrapnel and humantarget52 have fallen, VashTheStampede and rancidpsycojosh shall rise again, and when anime girls threatens to destroy NG, a user shall overtake all in exp. This user shall save NG from itself and he shall be known for his name, which begins with a "V", ends with a "t" and has and "e" and a "r" in between".

And, if that isn't enough, I'm 24 and you're 30. So, seventy years from now, when you're 100 years old and incapable of logging into NG, I'll still be only 94 and capable of using the internet!

So there you have it, three perfectly good explnations of why I'm destined to overtake you one day.

He's down to 142 now. There's 2.5k between me and him, so he's more than a long term goal to pass, as he's not stopped depositing. 250 days of missed deposits from Ron would let me past, but that isn't going to happen for a long while.

If you're going backwards but not missing deposits, then you're not really going backwards. Just remember, as long as you keep depositing your 10 exp EACH AND EVERY SINGLE day, then NO one can pass you.

All they can do is keep up with you or not if they're around or below you... and all they can do is stay ahead of you or let you pass if they're above you.

If your ranking fell, it's just that the people you're tied with or 10 exp behind did their depositing earlier than you that day for a change, when normally they deposit late in the day, which tricks NG into thinking they have 10 less exp than they actually do that day. Capisce?

Don't say that. :'( I have to wait a years time before I get the chainsaw and that does feel like a long time.

Maybe not to you.

48 isn't bad, 49 does nothing for me, only reason 50 means anything it starts the next group. :)

Ah yes. Well, that would be a reason to look forward to level 50 whether or not you like the icon itself or not, yep. I was just confused because it sounded like you were saying you'd just hit level 48 when of course you're level 47 (not that there's anything wrong with that </Seinfeld>).

July 2009 isn't that far away. And by then... NEW PRESIDENT. OMG.
I didn't say it was an extream way off date. Just looking down the line.

Roger that. Time keeps on slippin', slippin', slippin'... into the future.

I just think it might not be as long term as you seemed to. Definitely a good goal.

What's that? A good landmark number coming up in your exp or your ranking, or what?
Been and gone, my friend - 36,000 B/P :P

As I noted in another thread you mentioned it in, yep. Since you weren't very specific with the "something interesting," and I thought you'd been talking about patience in regards to the slow exp depositing grind, I thought you meant something exp-related, so I wouldn't have guessed you meant 36k b/p.

I've got a few long term goals, but as far as Experience is concerned, I've got things to keep me satisfied, including Level 37 in a few months. 2 Days after my 25th Birthday.

NOOO. NOT THAT LEVEL. ANYTHING BUT THAT LEVEL.

July 2009 isn't that far away. And by then... NEW PRESIDENT. OMG.
All the abusive flash about Barrack Obama / Hilary Clinton should be fun to watch. lol @ opinionated teenagers :P

Obama ALL THE WAY!!! He is the only hope if the war in Iraq is ever to end.

I'm an Obama man myself, but not because of Iraq.

So you don't believe Hillary that she'd end the Iraq war, too, eh?

P.S: What do I have to do besides depositing every day to make the top 500? I am moving up like a snail.

You can't do anything else, man. Moving like a snail means it's worth it.

I think I've already addressed how your #500 to #400 gap wasn't NOTHING compared to your #400 to #300 and #300 to #200 and so on and so forth gaps.... they will OWN YOU AND EAT YOUR SOUL.

And the person who would steal my name would be mocked to death, just like X-Naut.

That bastard.

The person who would steal your name, I mean, not fake-X-Naut.

But it isn't that long. You youngins and your "oh noe, time takes so long" bullcrap.

You're a level 3 after only 6 days on Newgrounds, so... that's actually better than 90% of new signups. Congratulations, and yep, you certainly can make it to the top 2000 exp. Don't ever miss a deposit and it'll be easy as hell.

I think I have missed 1 deposit since 2002. :) silly ng was down.
Heck I recently made 48, and I'm looking right past 49 to 50 :)
I like that level 52 icon...to bad it will be July of 09 :/
Yes, we're quite the clowns, ain't we. #;-}>

Ahem. I beg to differ. I didn't study 4 years at clown university, having to go to the streets as a mime (the lowest of all street artists) to be able to pay my ultra-mage-expensive tuitions and have slave away in books for my doctoral thesis so that you, gfoxcook, could call me a mere "clown". I demand respect!

If you wish to adress my formal title, then I insist that you call me Dr Vert, PhD in Clownology.

Futhermore, I'll have you know that my treatise on the use of illegal mustard pie during the great clown battle of 1748 was commended by Dr Pierrot Arlecchino (PhD in Clownology) himself!

In face of this insult, the rules state that I should challenge you to a clown duel, but I shall spare you because I know that the knowledge you possess of your inevitable fate (that I shall overtake you in exp one day) is torture enough.

But you're right about one thing: level 37 and 38 are mere preludes to the sheer awesomeness that is level 39 and 40! The same way that levels 48, 49 and 50 are filler materials for the rest.

Fun: THAT IS THE BENEFIT OF DIPLOMATIC IMUNITY!

You claim to have attended Clown "Camp" in Wisconsin for 4 years and yet you don't feel like being called a "mere" CLOWN?

That's like a student attending an academic university for 4 years and then being upset when someone calls them an "academic." You fool!

Besides, I went to Clown College in OXFORD, so yes, I feel I'm somewhat of an expert on the subject.

I've got no files on this laptop from before 2006, but I have tons of old 2003 and 2004 files on my old desktop, which my girlfriend's using right now. If I wanted to... boy could I take a trip down memory lane.

We should post some old screenshots to show the newbies what NG life was like back in those days.
