Can you believe that 2021 is halfway over already? They say time flies when you're having fun - but it really flies when you get older. Think about it: for a 10 year old kid, 1 year represents 10% of their life, which is a decent chunk. But someone who's 50, well that 1 year is only 2%. We tend to remember important things in our life, and at 10, all the memories are just a few years past. But at 50, those memories span decades, yet they feel like they just happened "yesterday". As someone who has put 50 in the rear view mirror, I can tell you time really does feel like it goes too fast. Oh, a single day still feels like a day, but even a week on holiday seems to disappear in a flash.

And that's why, as I grow older, I realize that time truly is precious; that wasting it by engaging in petty arguments or fights over opinions is not worth it. I am mellowing in my "old age" and in the process, have come to the realization that true happiness comes from within; that by being kind to others, it somehow finds its way back to you. If I want my world to be a nicer, easier place to live, the first (and only) person I can change is looking at me in the mirror.

That's why I'm so very fortunate and honored to be part of the Elite Guard. Yes, it's changed over the years, and I along with it. I look back at my older posts, and I was very vocal , driven and rife with all levels of humor, some of which pushed the envelope. We had a rowdy bunch back then, but they all got the job done and had fun doing it. Now, as groups tend to do, we've matured and mellowed, like fine wine. There's less of us, but the work gets done by a great set of members. We have much more activity from non members as well, and besides the occasional minor shit postings, the forum keeps on track and is a safe place for all. But at any time, on any day, I know I am working with one of the best set of Newgrounds users it has to offer, and for all of that, I thank you from the bottom of my heart *Salutes*

As for last month's activity, apparently EGSC @Peregrinus decided that sleep was not needed, and hammered out over 3,800 BP points this month, which not only edged him up one rank to #8, but also passed EGSC @Guthrie (who had an impressive 3,500+ month) by about 300 BP. Between these two members, they alone accounted for 57% of the total EGB BP for the month of June! That is impressive!

And before I forget, let's congratulate the newly promoted Major @ZJ, who is now more than halfway along on his journey to become a Supreme Commander. Well done, soldier! *Salutes*
