I figured the whole account was stolen stuff ("leopard can't change his spots") but I'm garbage at audio since I have a limited experience range there. And I'm on lunch, so a quick Googling is all I can manage.

The shovelware uploader had another one maybe two days ago so was on my radar.

I've seen a lot of weird shit in the portal since I joined. But I don't think I've seen anything which has unsettled me as much as this submission. I feel dirty.

I switched both to http so that might change things. Didn't for me; they don't load, it seems. Anyone else getting them to work? For now, vote appropriately I guess. If they don't work, they'll be blammed. I don't want to remove them yet, since Construct2 games usually work, so I want to see if they pass or not. We can always revisit them later.

It's easy enough to spot stolen audio when you're looking. Anything with vocals is a red flag esp. if they're polished, and they almost always help out by using the original title and often with the original artist's name included.

In case you haven't come across it yet there's an Audio Portal Cleanup thread where you can post stolen audio if you do get into it. It's less tedious than reporting individual tracks given the volume of thefts.

A total of 14 submissions so far since 09 April have used the "oparin" tag (11 cleared judgement, 3 under judgement).

Oparin is a school (elementary through University) in Mexico, so I'm thinking it's the result of a computer class since it's all in a short time frame and sharing a tag/real names as usernames. Newgrounds is admittedly a super easy way to create an account with minimal info, and upload up to 2 things a day (plus dumping grounds, project sharing, etc). They were all made in Construct 2, which is an inexpensive software for building games. Much like how they had my generation make Java games in CompSci class, Construct is likely one of the current options on the cheap.

There's also a wide range of quality that came out of them, and none seem to match up in any search as being stolen. I did find an animator with Oparin as the last name, but his stuff isn't games, and not anything on NG.

@Exedor for your consideration.

Every class, even those where all students volunteer to participate, will have one outlier on either end of the bell curve. Some people just don't get the explanations no matter how material is taught. Most do well enough for the grade, and one or two do much better.

I suppose that is the downside of NG as a cheap hosting platform: the community input into whether their projects survive.

If the theory is sound, I expect we'll get 5-10 more submissions with the tag (if the class is 20-25 students), then it'll stop. There might be a second wave come end of term.

As for Private @RightTime. I see the Private's conduct in the forums is relatively becoming of an EGB member. Your B/P rate is low, but that isn't a huge problem.
