I'm sorry to ask, guys... but how do you blow the whistle on flash animations nowadays? I haven't done it since the redesign... and can't find a way to do it. I know how to do it on reviews, but otherwise... it's not working...

You can no longer flag flash submissions. If you find a submission that is rule breaking you can report it here. You can't get whistle points from flagging flash submissions anymore, sadly.

And what is the effect of reporting them in here if we can no longer flag them?

So we do the dirty job for flash moderators to get all the glory? Haha :P

Author Comments: "The Video Game version of this was uploaded on Clock Day, and passed but some jerk deleted it..."
...some jerk? I prefer to refer to that person as 'a mod with the guts to do the right thing.'
Who was that masked mod, anyway?
Anyway, it's a piece that's been submitted over and over, and all that changes is the heads and maybe the music. The majority of the piece is animation from some cartoon, not created by any author here. A softening of attitdes toward spam submissions is the real cause of the 'decline' of Newgrounds. As the focus shifted from quality submissions to spam submissions, so goes the site... :\

However, in my opinion, being more and more strict on spam submissions seems to be what really kills the portal I think (I didn't mind the occasional FatBadger or KK submission back in the day since they tended to make me laugh more than anything which I really needed in those days). We have some gifs set to sound that come through every now and then (EyeLovePoozy and Rig stand with a couple of funny examples).) Did it kill the portal for that stuff to go through? No, we all need a silly spam submission or two every once in awhile to relax and unwind. Nothing wrong with piece of spam such as that every now and then.
With all due respect, you have an opinion just like Exedor does. Neither of your opinions really matter, it's what the main people in charge think is allowable. I do have to agree with Exedor, though, because letting more shitty, spam submissions into the portal is bringing worse ratings to Newgrounds. If it's Clock Day, go crazy with the spam, but if it's a couple days afterwards, nobody cares and those submissions are in fact bringing worse ratings in most of the time. You do have more power than us, since you're a mod, but that's no reason to let a spam submission pass through that has been removed a couple times already.
Like I've said to others before, loosen up a bit, no need to be super strict like that. While a good majority of pointless spam is removed, it's alright to let a silly thing or two such as this come through every now and then.
Just like I said before, the submission that both Exedor and I reported had been removed and re-submitted without any real improvements and you are letting it remain in the Portal. Letting more 'silly' stuff into the Portal will encourage more of it eventually.
That one submission has been removed already and now you're encouraging it to stay for no good reason? Can you just remove it so we can get back to our normal routines, please?

Hello, officer, SentForMe. Are you thinking about joining the EGB? If so, you must get your whistle rank up to silver and your blam/save points must add up to 2,500 total in order to reach Private rank.

Shit is shit even if it's sugar coated. And this contains no sugar.
PS: Clock Day is well and truly over.
Cats. Actual, real-life cats. It's straight video with very little in the way of editing.
Not so sure about this one. The National Geographic logo pops up in the top right at 1:43, and stays there for the duration of the video, so the background of the last almost-three-minutes is TV/video footage from them. It is mostly covered up at times, but you can still see that it's there from the logo.

"You must have a Bronze Whistle or higher; NO Garbage Whistles."
I shall say no more.
It is true it says "bronze" here - that's because EagleRock has not updated that page.
Refer back to page 1356 in the EGB forum, in my post dated Aug 30, 2012, responding to SpretzNaz:

A while ago. Since the B/P ratios have gone completely to Hell we deemed it necessary to find a different way to check for a member with the proper credentials. That's why it's called the "Elite Guard" - you have to be more than above-average in your commitment to doing the right thing in the portal.

For the most part, the Audio and Art portals have been really quiet lately. I know that review flagging does help the Whistle stat, but fractionally.
Eventually the whistle system will be reactivated for flash - but remember, you can still whistle reviews and build up your status. If you find the right string of abusive users and their reviews, and mark them accordingly, you'll get a silver whistle in no time. They're out there - you just have to look for them.

So, actually, the requirement changed in August 2012, about 2 years ago.
Hope this clears things up!

Good work, SCTE3! But even if it's an award winner, if it's stolen or shovelware, shouldn't it be reviewed for deletion also? Even stolen stuff can get good scores and get in the top 5. Just a question.

Gotta agree with SCTE3 on that one. We also have a fair share of accounts who started out as decent contributors and deservingly won awards but then full on started to just submit shovelware and thus got their content aside from the award winning ones removed, so those are kept around to avoid those unneeded gaps in the trophy history.

Good example of an account which went to the bad side. Thanks for the report, removed it.
