Halloween was pretty quiet in my area no real trick or treat I missed most of Halloween I will look at some flashes. I heard about the terrible storm I'm real sorry for you people over in America. I saw some of the awful stuff on the news I hope it goes soon. I have looked at old games one I cant believe they ever released is Action 52 for the NES in 1991, and about 199 dollars the same as a console almost!

Still without power here and at most clients. But I found out that I can have the internet if I power up my cable modem and router. I dont have a generator, but I dug around my electronic shelves and found a 12v dc to 120v ac power inverter.
i rigged it with a car adapter and plugged it in my car - then let the engine idle as I ran a 100ft orange extension cord from my car to my office. plugged a power strip into the cord. and then powered up my modem, router and laptop.
3 minutes later I'm online. who else but a geek would use a 2012 ford fiesta as a power source for their internet connection?
cant stay on long with gas at $4 a gallon - but hey, it works.
btw lost a few trees here - including one through my den. big hole in roof above my favorite comfy chair. what a mess! no gear lost and no one hurt so that's what matters.

I think there was an XKCD comic about how resourceful geeks can be when setting up an internet connection in a new apartment. It's true, isn't it?

Hopefully all those that are effected by the hurricane will be safe and return to Newgrounds soon. Especially Byte and her ruined chair haha. I don't know anything about it but fingers crossed it's over by now and as few people as possible got hurt. R.I.P. those that died.

Well, it has been a good month for me and milestones. I think this is the first time that there has been three on the same month. I have been trying to get passed the two thousand blams mark for quite some time so it was nice to finally achieve that one and when has passing ten thousand at any stat not been a good thing. Chances are next months will be maybe a eleven thousand saves and almost defiantly a thirteen thousand total B/P.

Congrats to all for a job well done. Between the mods and the dedicated users here in the Barracks, the crap, shovelware and dupe accounts are being handled as fast as they show up. I am proud of you all - truly a credit to the Elite Guard!
As we discussed, I have been thrown back into the stone age here. No power to my house, or surrounding homes, for about a 3 block radius. I see street lights all around me further down in all directions, so I have hope that sooner or later my power will be restored. The tree is still in my den, but fortunately none of my gear or my office (on the other side of the house) was damaged. I am living off my laptop and now I am at a client that has both power and internet (for today anyway), so it's day-to-day until I get back fully online.
However, if I apply power to my modem and router, my interwebs still work. I don't have a generator, but I am a true geek, and as promised, here is a pic of how I got my laptop connected to the world using a power strip, a very long orange extension cord running from my downstairs office, through my basement, up the stairs, into the back window of my car, and into the inverter - which is plugged into the 12v power port. I Idled the car for about 1/2 hour to make sure I didn't drain the battery, and managed to get online, check some e-mail, and contact some family. Despite power loss and property damage everywhere, I am happy to say everyone is okay - no one hurt, just cold and miserable, but glad to be alive.
But there is a gas shortage here, so I won't be doing that again unless absolutely needed...or If I need my fix of newgrounds (yes, that IS gamejunkie's posts you see on the laptop). Stay strong, continue fighting the good fight, and I'll be back again soon enough...you can't get rid of me that easily!
