HO HO HOPE you become a Newgrounds Supporter this year!
We're working hard to give you the best site possible, but we have bills to pay and community support is vital to keep things going and growing. Thank you for considering!

I got a lot of blams from that stuff on Halloween and gained 6000 b/p cool! Thanks for the update Lizzardis I forgot about the Roster, I have since leveled up to Staff Sergeant. Hello Seamonky nice to see you on here again. I will read chapter two looks good. Did you mean about the maybe suspect flash that passed EagleRock? I thought it looked strange and the comments are rather odd still maybe there are just doing it for attention, but its got nothing to do with Afro Around the World series. I was disappointed with the end of Jerry The End wont spoil anything, but maybe the series should have stopped after episode 2. I did not think the later ones were as good the ending was a real letdown in my opinion. I think because the original Jerry was so special.

I've seen this one at least seven times aready. What I think is happening is that the author doesn't know how to edit his flash after submitting it, so is deleting and re-uploading edits of it over and over.
If anyone knows exactly how the edit process works, it might be worth PMing him with the information in an attempt to stop all the pointless re-uploads.

Yeah, you're right about that one.

I noticed that the Flash had steadily improved over time. At first I was blamming it, honestly, but after a while he added enough to make it protection-worthy, at least in my opinion. I don't think it was malicious...he was legitimately trying to improve the Flash. Sheiz hit it on the head with the fact that he probably just doesn't know how to edit the Flash.

I'm not sure myself. I know the Barney Bunch sure knows how... XD
Anyway, here's Chapter 3 of my story! Enjoy!

I'm still slowly on my way to passing Shanus, but it's going to take a little while yet. I've also still broke away from aldlv a little bit more this month, but I'm pretty sure that's about to change here as I'm starting to resort to only B/Ping while I deposit because of the lack of time.

Just to let everyone know how to do the whole edit thing I'll post it here just so you know for future reference.
They have to go into My Account, Flash Submissions, and there will be a big Edit button next to any of their flash submission. They can also just go to the flash submission itself and there will be an edit button right above the author comments.
The click on the edit and you can remove the flash submission by pushing the delete button in the settings. You then browse your computer and upload the new version and your done. :)
Also, here is a nice little topic in the EGB forums about me getting robbed. :(

Well, I just get tired of having to see the same old shit over and over and over again. Also, it's a pet peeve of mine when people continue to upload unchanged flash or steal other people's work. That's all.

I know that my position might be more stern and less forgiving than others here, but if things like this happen again, I am not expecting the moderators to be so lenient. We have been warned and should be seen to take action.I agree. My position is always risk-averse when it comes to these things as well. I'm encouraging all Barracks members to check out the latest info I provided in the Barracks regarding this. I don't believe it requires anything disciplinary towards our members, but it does require getting some things out in the open.
Perhaps we'll have to get a Google Wave sorted for it :P
To change topics, let's talk about what I wanted to address yesterday
The Yankees winning the World Series?
Oh, wait... we've still got about another 32 hours to go :P

OK, sorry, but I have to ask...
WHAT THE FUCK IS GOOGLE WAVE SUPPOSED TO BE FOR!!??
Seriously, I read the damn website's description, and it basically says that Google Wave is... well... everything. And nothing. All at once. And you need an invite or something because it's still a beta and it's intended purpose (read: everything) will probably change.
What is the use of having what looks like an attempt at emulating an iPhone on the internet? There's talk of using some kind of chat thingy in General, but it probably won't work as well as the other established chat rooms because of the way it works. Um, point?
What does everyone see as so useful here? I can't see anything I haven't already seen before elsewhere. What am I missing this time? :/
Well, it looks like the Portal has slowed down a little - which gave me some time to pump out the next chapter of my story:
Chapter 14 - Broken Reflections
The story is drawing to an end. I see one or two more chapters, tops, and then an epilogue.
Hope you all like it!

Simple: it's an online collaboration tool that is supposed to remove the need for instant messages, forums, email, file servers, etc. It makes it possible to collaborate in a much easier way. It's really gauged for businesses that have multiple offices, but it's good for basically any group trying to collaborate on the Internet.
What does everyone see as so useful here? I can't see anything I haven't already seen before elsewhere. What am I missing this time? :/
The idea is everything you need is here, all at once. Nothing else necessary. Again, not anything useful for someone playing around on Newgrounds, but for a business, it's a really big deal. No more need for email, fileservers, sharepoint servers, IM servers, etc.

NO!!! You have to keep writing. You're an excellent writer Byte. Surely there will be a sequel. Also, only a 15-16 chapter story, that seems rather low, even for a standard chapter book. Most books have usually 20-30 chapters. Hell, re-read BUF.

Thanks for the compliment - and yes, there may be a sequel or prequel. The hard part is coming up with a different way to tell a different story, or else the sequel is just like the original - and that gets boring.
As for 15-16 chapters: as of right now, I am over 56,000 words into this novella - about 75 pages in MS Word. When I first started it, I didn't envision it as a 200 page story - and there is just so much you can do with time and dimensional portals. But don't be alarmed. Seeing how well this one did, I do have the momentum to continue on with another story - longer, more detailed - maybe even more epic. I just have to get an outline together that works. There were a few places along this story that I thought I had it all mapped out - and then later realized I would introduce a fact contradiction or create a paradox. It was tricky - but it was fun, and it's keeping me on my toes.
Any ideas on the sequel? I'm open to suggestions...
Meanwhile, let me get back to the chapter in progress. And since no one wants it to end just yet, I'll make sure that there'll be a few more chapters before this part of the tale is finished being told. The story, however, is NEVER over...hehehehe...

How about something centering on the [DD]? Or the anticipation that was all over the BBS about the Art portal and the much anticipated Lit Portal?

I'm planning to do that on one of the last chapters in my story, basically it's going to be just like Die Hard.

Hey. I'm back from my Hiatus. Missed you guys :D
Just read chapter 4 and what a twist I was not expecting that it was so shocking to see that ,I won't spoil it for anyone who has not read it yet. I will read your story ByteSlinger lots of stories here I don't know where you people the time do write such epic pieces. Canas is a review mod again which is nice seeing as he got hacked ,he looked odd without his gold aura. He has been like level 27 for ages now he is level 28. I level to level 33 and some Throwing Stars or Shirkens. Well the latest TOTW is not bad I have seen worse. But talking about the story the setting is cool.
Unsuitable Submission
This submission contains age-rated material and requires an account to view.
Suspicious. The e-mail does not match up to the site which the game is from, so I'd watch this for a possible file-swap. Not much more info from the original site that it is from, but this game also looks a little old. It seems odd that the author would wait this long to submit it onto newgrounds.
On the other hand, the account was made a month ago. Usually spammers make the account the same day that the submission is to be entered. I don't know what to think here.
I'm a mod!/ Sign up for the NGPD, To Blam and Protect. Post in the thread if you want to join, all new recruits are welcome! :)

I'd say that's OK. If you look, you'll see that the submitting account has a heap of other games submitted a while ago. It may look old, but it also looks like it's a website owner uploading his / her store of games onto NG, like what happened with the Gamesforgirls account a while ago. I wouldn't worry about it if I were you; the e-mail doesn't always match up to the website name on these things.

Really? We're going to resort to this now?
This is the EXACT type of posting that got the NGPD locked. Personally, I don't want to go that route, so let's stop this immediately. If you joke around with stuff like this as part of a normal, that's fine. Otherwise, keep it off this thread. It does not belong here. I personally despise one-liner posts and post + 1 content myself, as it oozes of immaturity and stupidity. A little fun is fine, but when it gets out of hand, it gets out of hand fast. So, like I said, either roll it into a larger post, or just can it altogether. I really don't like taking disciplinary action regarding this stuff, but I will do so if necessary.
Anyway, now that the unpleasantries are out of the way, let's move on to better things:

I'd agree with this assessment. I've noticed that figuring out if a flash is stolen or not is a LOT harder nowadays that it was in the past. Back then, there weren't as many "professional" Flash sites submitting stuff to Newgrounds, so finding something like this was pretty cut and dry: simply stolen. Nowadays, these sites are all over the web, so figuring out which one is the real one just becomes harder and harder.

I know that sentiment very well. I'd probably have thousands of reviews by now if I didn't want to dispense with the "holy crap greatest thing evar I have nothing too add make more plz kthxbai zomg 1billion/5" reviews.
Great flash tho.

Now that you mention it, I had a guide-type thingy posted on the NGPD forums somewhere that deals with how to tell if something's stolen or not. I had stuff like this in mind when I wrote it (it's kinda like my blog thingy, but with flashes being the focus instead of reviews). If you like, I can copy-paste it onto the EGB's forums for anyone who's interested.

If I REALLY want to review something, but it's already got a load of 10-walls and every last little problem has already been pointed out, I get creative instead of constructive. Give the author ideas for a sequel, add-ons that would've been cool to see in the original, you get the idea. Come up with something you'd like to see extra if you can't think of anything that should've been done differently. And give it a 9, just so it's not lost in a sea of shitty comments too.
Then again, I'm just stupid like that. :P

Yeah, that movies has been on my favorites as soon as it was submitted. It was actually on my top four favorites longer than any other submission was, but it's slowly dropped off now because I haven't rearranged my favorites around.

It's great if you're collabing on a flash movie and need to get some work made by the voice actor, while two or three animators are trying to refine a drawing to make all three of theirs look something like on another.

So out of the entire Barracks, only Byte and Lizz are happy for me? Gee, thanks a lot Coop. @_@.
Just an update, I hope to get chapter 10 out either within the next few days or hours. As I'm writing this, I only have 8,276 characters left in my newspost. I'm not really sure how much more I can fit in that amount of space. Sorry it's been taking so damn long.
Tell me about it. Hey, since Byte, Eagle, Idiot-Finder, TheThing, PuddinN64, and myself are all writing fanfics, how about you jump on the bandwagon Lizz? I'm pretty sure you could come up with something. After all, you're the youngest here.

We're like the comedy relief of the EGB. When the 5 of us get going, we joke a lot with each other. Maybe you could do a fic about our days in the NGOD, save for Byte, we didn't know her then.
Just got this surgery done yesterday. It was a solid 10-hour day for me in the hospital. My nose is now pretty much centered, and, from what I've been able to do so far, breathes a lot better. But I did learn a few things while there.
1) You will never get any better sleep then when you're knocked out with anesthesia.
2) Percasets are one hell of a drug
3) Even though the surgeons broke my nose and cut my nostrils, nothing hurts more than a dry throat sore from the breathing pipe they put down it for the anesthesia.
4) When you're 10 minutes out of surgery, don't hit on the nurses, even if they are hot. Because trust me, you look like to belong in the morgue.
