The reason why I thought or think Byte is an old/experienced user is because I have seen her post and because her posts are usually long and detailed about any subject in hand, it leads me to believe she knows what she is doing.....Like an old/experienced user would.
Understand?
Now, I don't see you as one because I haven't seen you post as much and the nunchucks don't seem as "old" as the bronze gauntlet of Bytes........
Well, to make things a little clearer, when I joined NewGrounds in '06, it was more out of curiosity and eventually seeing how far up the ranks I got. I didn't hit the site every day, and really didn't want to get involved in forums and reviews, as they seemed to be breeding grounds for trolls and flames. I had made some negative (but I thought constructive) reviews, but they kept getting hammered by PBot, and that pissed me off.
Later, as I got more involved, I reviewed more positively - figuring that the damn politically correct bots wouldn't get mad if I kept a happy face and kept away from calling the flashes "useless pieces of fecundal tripe that could be found in any litter box". So, I only review positively and constructively - when I have the time.
As for the experience, that comes from being a consultant for a while, and then taking all of this experience from my work and life and applying it here. I am older than most of the population here at NewGrounds, so that in itself lends a different perspective from, say, a 16-year old kid.
Generally, I just try to be helpful (sometimes at the expense of being verbose), have a good time, and try to stay out of too much trouble. I also treat people I'd like to be treated, and if that sets a good example, well, that's cool, too.
Now, I am much more active here and on NG logs, as well as with my job IRL. I spend a lot of time online for a lot of reasons, both work and play - and in my case, it's the same thing!
The biggest rules that I live by when on a public site is this: never type anything or do anything online that you would be ashamed if your family saw it - and do nothing that will get the Feds to knock on your door.
Seems to be working well so far. Thanks for the kind words, Liz and everyone else - glad I can be a positive influence here - and a friend, too.
*Salutes*
