I hate to burst your bubble but reviews marked as helpful by anyone doesn't really mean anything. Users will mark your review as unhelpful if they strongly disagree with what you have to say while those who agree with your thoughts on the submission will mark it as helpful regardless of content. The review rating system doesn't determine quality of reviews, sadly.

Ah, the "sheep" method. Pandering to the ego of the authors. I tell it like it is when I review, which gets responses and mine change in length, format and generally aren't regarded as helpful all the time, because they aren't the same all the time.

There are submissions out there that will give reviews with responses that aren't spam.

Great way to start off the year. Gained 1 response without writing a single review. I can't count on that to pull me through the entire year though.

Update # 78 - 26th February 2011
Oh how different this update would have looked bedfore last night, when Fro purged his list of about 15 submissions. Some people lost a lot of reviews and responses from there. I hope you get some more submitted soon, I have a gaping hole to fill up in my stats!

Right, we've had one massive movement, thanks to the Bahamut Effect - SCTE3 sets records for responses gained in a month with 82, ranks gained with 19 and he moves into the top 50 to boot! Wow, that's going to shake things up, as AntiGravity steps down into the second post. Nothing new to report in the second clump, with no-one overly threatening for the top 100 any more...

And SCTE3 tips the standings on its head well and truly with this month's massive stat gain. I was buggered a little by the loss I suffered last night, though a lot of people, Haggard included suffered along those lines. A shame, but I'll have to respond in March then.

Always nice when this happens. I assume this tie break is determined by amount of Flash Reviews? Personally I'd fine it more fair if the user with the least amount of Flash Reviews gets ranked higher, but I'm not gonna complain here :p

No it won't. It helps if you look for flashes where the author responds. Not hard to find.

I don't think there's any other reason to like it other than: It's just another stat we can measure and compare.

If I remember correctly responses was a popular discussion topic in The Reviewers Club (a club which died in 06 or so). That place might be where the interest in responses eventually sprouted forth from (I know it's where I got the idea to revive the Reviewers List).

My memory is a bit foggy though, maybe Bahamut can confirm it and tell a bit more. He was also a member of that club back at the time.

Mostly depends on the author I guess. Some respond to all, some respond to none, others respond to whatever review they find interesting.

I just like the feedback of the author. If I take the time to write a long review it's always nice to know that the author read the review.

Sometimes it's helpful to ask some questions in the review that are related to the submission. Often the author will respond to the question.

I'm just going to put it out there, that it's now my new goal to get back onto this list. Let the stat whoring commence.

No I'm not talking about the old RRC. I'm talking about The Reviewers Club. It was a club that died in 2006 if I remember correctly and I'm pretty sure you weren't even around back then.
