NG Resizing images?

I noticed that the BBS makes you resize your image if it is too big in dimensions. I understand why they set this limit, so it won't fuck up the layout. However, the filesize is the only thing that really takes resources. It doesn't matter if it's 100x100 or 1000x1000, if it's the same filesize it's the same difference for the most part.

I was wondering if NG is ever going to make resizing a possibility. I made a resizing system which stretches the photo proportionally to fit the limits but still allows upload, then it provides a link to the raw image so users can view it in full.

I was wondering if NG will ever impliment something like this. If James would like the code I made I'd more than gladly hand it over to him.

James would have a better chance of viewing this idea (which is pretty good) in this thread. Although I'm not sure if it's been brought up before.

Well I like the fact that it makes posting images that are large much easier. Also, if some images are resized they loose their effect, they could just be linked and viewed as a whole.
