A well written and well thought out rant thread and it was an entertaining reead to boot. I agree with pretty much everything except hating on the ignorant users who signed up a couple months ago. We should try to help the not to flame them. I cringe when I look back at my earliest posts and reviews. As for mods breaking the rules, they should lead an example for everyone else, but I can't cast stones at people for making a spam topic every now and then when I do the same thing myself.

These are very valid points, but there's more to the internet then what you find on NG, albino and other forums and the like. Beyond all the porn, comedy, forums, e-shops, special interest sites, and other high traffic sites, there are still the things that endorse what the internet was founded on. Needed information. Project Gutenberg, tutorial sites, international sites, other usefull resources, and their avalability, that people of our generation often take for granted, and sill present and being made. Unavoidable are the morons that are commonly catered and attracted to forums like this. Everyone already either knows this and/or does not want to listen to it. In this context words are as weak as they have already been abused and overused. I would like to say that I'm sorry for putting it so candidly but that would be a lie. So I will apologize if in some way this is construable as an insult.
