Weird. UJs aren't UJs for me. Sure, they're coloured like UJs on the portal page, and the score doesn't show, but I'm unable to blam or protect them and the score is showing on the voting page. Is anyone else having this problem?

yea, that happens a lot. Either you miss voted because of others mass voting or the movie was flagged. There are a few possibilities.

ShittyKitty, i experienced that exact same problem yesterday, i couldnt tell you what the problem was, but it looks like the site is struggling to keep up with the votes on specific movies for some reason, because even after i had voted on a movie which wasnt underjudgement, the portal still says it still is UJ, weird.

I don't think it's right to lock the topic only on the grounds that the question was answered, because for example, if a newbie asks about whistles or levels, once the question is answered, that topic sometimes becomes a nice discussion for experienced users, and a place where people can share info on that subject.

Another scenario: someone's looking for a Flash and a user (usually Mazza :D) posts the link. At this point I would just let the topic die, but if someone comes along and posts 'Oh that was a cool game/movie', then I'd lock the topic.

Basically, I would only lock a topic if it is spam or if it has been needlessly bumped by someone.

But to answer your first question, I think you're doing a great job as a moderator, and I certainly don't think you're overactive with the [ADMINISTRATE] button :D

I mostly agree with what Eldarion said, but, say if a question is asked and then explained/answered, so the topic is locked by yourself, or any mod, but the user who asked in the first place still wants more infomation because they didn't understand the first time they will be forced to make a new topic or go on not knowing what they first wanted to..... i hope that makes sense to you...

Well, when a topic doesn't need any more input, ie the question has been answered, you rarely see any more post on it. It sinks into obscurity, end of story. If there are any more questions to branch off the topic, they will.

In short, leve them to their own devices.

Heh, well I wouldn't say I've had the fever since joining ng. Let's just say there was actually a blam/protect system back in 4-15-01. If I had the fever since then I'd have around 140,000 b/p points now. I'd say I've had the fever since December 2003 though. As for 100k points for me, I'll have graduated from college before then and I don't see myself earning 100+ while maintaining my career. I wouldn't say me getting 100k eventually is totally impossible though.
