There are just a few things about the whole Wi/Ht Members thing that I don't agree with. For example, the fact that new members are partly elected by users who haven't been on the board for several months. I would be a hypocrite if I ran for election.

I can't speak for all the members, but I do know several have withdrawn from voting for that very reason (e.g. _redruM_). Voting in every election is not a mandatory part of being a Wi/Ht Member. As you realise, voting on who you think is most appropriate for the part is pretty redundant when you don't know what's been going on. I myself didn't vote in the last election even though I HAD been around, simply because I could not make up my mind on an outstanding individual. It's not as if completely inactive users come out of the woodwork simply to cast an uninformed vote, either.

I'm not saying every single vote is just and fair; I'm sure your concern isn't without a solid foundation. However, if that's the only thing that worries you, perhaps you should reconsider your position. I doubt the issue is as bold as you take it to be.

when you say elected by people who haven't been here for several months, do you mean people like myself, drimarki and others?
If this is the case there shouldnt be any need to worry because if i remember rightly we set up a system whereby your voting power was more or less judging on regular and rare your appearance on the board is, However this system may not be implemented currently as I have been away for so long it may be something to take up with Recon or Gfox, as they handle everything while I am away.

Maby we are due for an election, but then again if you look at the wi/ht members list the distance between each new member has gotten further and further apart. but maby thats just because things arn't like they used to be and it's alot of hassle to get all the votes in etc.....

That is true, I did long ago, I wasn't as active on the bbs back then, plus I had other reasons at the time, there were only like 7-9 members at the time. I like the role I play now on this forum.

oh wow, You being the "1st" member of the "where is/how to" members club.. my comment must have been like a soft smack of a bat to your head. From what I remember from what i've posted in that topic... someone told me that a member just does what most people do. They just help people at the most of their ability in the forums and that's nice but everyone can do that.
