This may sound pretty dumb, but what does AFAIK means ?
AFAIK, it means as far as I know.
(sorry, couldn't resist)
I hate it when there's a new acronym on the block and you've got no idea what it means. I first saw AFAIK in a post of gfox's, accompanied by JSYK. I sat there pondering for a while and managed to decipher AFAIK (as far as I know, as has been explained) but I had to ask about JSYK (just so you know, as it turned out). It seems there's a new one every month.
New acronym on the block? AFAIK and JSYK are two insanely ancient, in internet time, acronyms, man. They were both heavily in use when I got online in 1994. Hell, they've probably been used since you were born, dude. "New one every month" my ass. I haven't learned any new acronyms in years. You're just apparently NOTICING ancient ones every month or something. O_o

Indeed it is, I check your vp every month or so to see how you're moving along.
You do? How flattering it is to know someone who isn't running a list is keeping tabs on me. <3 MPA.
Hahahah. Most people call it stalking. #;-}>
i've been wondering if i'll have 10 by the time I hit EGSC.
Even if you don't, you'll get there eventually through deposits. That way you'll hit 10.00 even too, which is awesome. Poor D0GMA skipped right over it.
Indeed. Highly preferable to skipping over it. I am so glad I didn't skip over 10. Especially because I'd skipped over almost ALL of the even VPs from 6 to 9. :::nods:::

On a side note, has anyone seen Ivan? That thing's back, and it's heading my way!

Hopefully that URL will work for ya and anyone else. It's the path of Tropical Storm/Hurricane Ivan since it moved into the Western Atlantic in the first place. It goes along, passes Cuba, sweeps up along the west edge of FL, it smashes into Alabama... it moves up into TN and NC and then up to Pennsylvania, I think (it's off the map at that page, unfortunately), then it somehow CURVES BACK DOWN INTO THE ATLANTIC, goes down the coast... crosses through FL and gets into the gulf again... crosses its path from the first time towards the USA's coast... and comes up to Louisana. Once it enters Texas, I've heard it will either curve SW and go down the coastline (but over land, not over water like it's mostly been doing everywhere)... or it will curve NW. We'll see.
It's not going to be anywhere near as bad for the Houston area as Tropical Storm Allison in early June 2001 was, that I can assure you.

Well, there's always not posting at all, but we don't want that from ya, Qwox.
That's good, nice to know my posts count for something other than post count. :)
Heh. #;-}>
Besides, the last time someone wished someone else wouldn't post anymore, Pure died. Be careful what ye wish for. ;_;
Oh yes, Pure, I nearly forgot about him, he had over 9,000 posts when he stopped posting. He said he had computer problems and needed someone to deposit for an undeclared period of time. So maybe he stopped posting and used the computer problem as an excuse, but even if he didn't, he wasn't as bad as everyone said he was and I agree with what 'ye' said.
NEARLY FORGOT ABOUT PURE? (sniff) I hope that's not what they say about me when I'm gone. ;_;
FEEL HONOURED, ALL YE WHO I REPLY TO
*me feeling honoured*
Whee.
Better. Anyway, gfox posts becoming a tradition would be weird, it takes time to write something long, and a lot of work to keep the reader's interest for a full 6.5k post. And the reason why the posts are so long is because he doesn't read the topic everyday. I don't need to write something that long, and neither does anyone else who comes very regularly.
Right now I'm on an every-other-day pattern. I don't think I can keep it up for long, though. #;-}>
Yet... my posts are still insanely long. GO FIGURE. #;-}>
I find more to reply to when I'm not struggling to get through dozens of pages of this topic, I suppose.

Well Gfox, ive decided not to reply to every post you made regarding me and you talking it woud just lengthen this out even more and proly give you nightmares so im not gonna. All i have to say is understood, and everything is now at an end.....Except for that thin skinned remark, you have been warned >:/
Well, last time you said it was all you had to say, so I've no problem with you not replying to my replies. If you DID reply, I'd just reply right back, as you correctly note, so... if you want it to end, end it dangit! #;-}>
Heh.

Yeah, SCD, he thinks that way of me too. We are in the same boat. Dude, just forget about it. You and I are good people, and he knows that. Me thinks he was just kidding :)
Even if there's a ring of truth in a criticism, correction, or whatnot that I give someone, all you have to do is ask yourself this question:
From what I've seen of gfox's posts to me, is there even a 10% chance that gfox views me as a friend on NG or in ANY sort of favourable light at all?
If the answer is yes, then you never need worry that much about my intentions when a post of mine slightly insults you or hurt your feelings. Let me know if you like, but PLEASE don't assume I did it on purpose or had malicious intent. ;_;

Meh i say things like that in jest anyway, i think he will understand, hes quite smart our Gfox :)
Yeah, geefox is smarter than the average bear. Although this is his kind of territory. He is an Aspiring Writer / Editor. I am sure that if you put him in front of a crowd with a guitar, he would choke right up ^_^
Jesus Christ, you two really turned page 707 into a "two guys who gfox inadvertantly insulted a few weeks back talk about how neato gfox is." O_o
And no, I can't play a good guitar. Great guess!
I took violin and piano lessons as a child and played some trumpet in middle/high school jazz band, but that's about it.
