Ahhh. I played it on the PC, not the NES. Almost all LucasArts adventure games were only FOR the PC/Mac, I believe. Now, the Star Wars games always come out on consoles as well, but Sam 'n' Max, Full Throttle, The Dig, Grim Fandango, Maniac Mansion II: Day of the Tentacle, the Indiana Jones adventure games, etc. etc... all were only for computers, I believe.

A long time ago, gfox complained about how I merge the Main Page Comments with the EGRL when I archive them. Again, an idea clattering around my head like a BB in a boxcar that is finally getting used. As part of the "fix" to make sure using your idea doesn't create broken links, I've done some shifting of where files are located. It's not exactly a transparent change to someone visiting the site, as it adds a little lag on the load time for a page, but it just seemed natural (and symetrical ^^) to keep them separate in the new archival format.

So I noticed when my links to the main and current htmls opened up the 7/24 updates yesterday instead of the 8/7 updates. #;-}> The only downside, I believe.

gfox expanded on my Gain idea for the Top 50s and has been a good sounding board as we toss ideas back and forth. At this point, it's just going to be a matter of how well the splits on which I've settled actually play out. With as few people getting gold on the EGRL as there have been, there won't be many on the Top 50s either. The real question is how often the lower splits of 35 blams/day and 15 saves/day work out.

Methinks the avg/gain/colours on the top 50s look great as they are now. No real need for further sounding off, probably. It's all good!

He went from being like a 60+ ppd guy to a 2 ppd guy. When Dobio calls you a biteme, he's referring to the OLD biteme from prior to September 2003, as that's the one he grew to love/hate.

Plus, you can go check out the new PentaList, which you're doing quite nicely on... one great thing about it is that since it's purely based on the actual 5 statcounts, there IS no sudden jumping that comes with rankups and levelups and things like that. You've either got points or you don't, and if you were near a point amount you thought was nifty, at least you're NEAR it, it's not all or nothing like with a rankup/VP jump. ;_;

Anyway, as I just mentioned..... ramagi passed fixit on the new PentaList. My sig doesn't look quite so good with Penta sitting there instead of Quad, IMO, but I'll be changing it all up soon and taking out the top 50 blam and top 50 save links since those are no longer my lists, so... we'll see how it looks once I hit 41,000 and update it completely.

I've been kicking this around for a bit now, and ramagi's comments in the BP thread got me motivated. The last time I asked for input did oh so well when I didn't post it here too, so ... reposted from the site:

UrtFink still holds my record with 19 blam points off the same flash, whether he called it The Yawn or The Bridge, and 47 blams off the same author. This occurred last summer, when averaging 200 submissions per day was a slow week ... a good chunk of them like the above ... the same dumbass submitting the same crap over and over. There's been a serious slow down in the average number of daily entries and we've been lucky to cross 160/day lately. I'm sure there are a variety of factors, not least of which is the new submission bans being handed out. What I like to call "UrtFink days" are, thankfully, over, but the voter stats are showing from the reduction in entires.

When I first began working out the daily average of people, and trying to differentiate people earned a lot of points, I had set it up as a ratio rather than the flat rates in use now. In the forums, I was limited in fonts available, so simply underlined everyone who had achieved the minimum and made a separate comments in the updates notes regarding the people who achieved a higher mark point. Both of those conventions, as you've seen, are still in use. As summer ended last year, and entries slowed, I shifted over to 50/day and 100/day and those worked fine.

With the new slow-down, it's time to take another look at the system. The main change will be to the EGRL breakdown on blue, green, and gold. The Top 50 lists will simply shift from a flat rate to a ratio, but retain the same values. On the Blammers, gold will be for 70%, rather than a flat 70/day, of the gold value on the EGRL. On the Saviors, gold will be for 30% of the EGRL gold. In both sets of Top 50s, blue will be half of gold. In the below examples, keep in mind that requirements to achieve each colour will go up and down as the daily average of entries changes.

Using the last few days as an example, we're averaging 150 entries/day. Against the old system:

1) 50.00 BPs/day for 33% of the daily average.
2) 62.25 BPs/day for 41.50% of the daily average.
3) 75.00 BPs/day for 50% of the daily average.
4)26.25 blams/day (75.00*35%)
5) 52.50 blams/day (75.00*70%)
6) 11.25 saves/day (75.00*15%)
7) 22.50 save per day (75.00*30%)

Another option is to base the EGRL against 25%, 37.5%, and 50%:

1) 37.50 BPs/day for 25% of the daily average.
2) 56.25 BPs/day for 37.50% of the daily average.
3) 75.00 BPs/day for 50% of the daily average.
4) 26.25 blams/day (75.00*35%)
5) 52.50 blams/day (75.00*70%)
6) 11.25 saves/day (75.00*15%)
7) 22.50 save per day (75.00*30%)

A third I've thought of is to base the EGRL against 30%, 45%, and 60%:

1) 45.00 BPs/day for 30% of the daily average.
2) 67.50 BPs/day for 45% of the daily average.
3) 90.00 BPs/day for 60% of the daily average.
4) 31.50 blams/day (90.00*35%)
5) 63.00 blams/day (90.00*70%)
6) 13.50 saves/day (90.00*15%)
7) 27.00 save per day (90.00*30%)
