the thing is, when there was flash, my things would get stolen and put on niche websites with decades of loyal users. I used to get tons of plays on those (way more than here on NG or on itch), and that was reflected on income a lot.
it's even weird to think that the highest incomes i got, ever, were from my debut year(because it was the last year with flash).

Ahh yeah that's probably less of a thing these days for sure. I wonder how many niche websites there are out there now with a similarly 'copied' collection of games that emulate them via Ruffle, I wonder how many know about it exists, someone oughta go campaign for it a bit more; notify all those website owners who might be missing out... if we had a bigger reach that wouldn't have needed to go away at all.
Interesting. Hadn't considered the positive effect of those sites at all, some content creators definitely weren't as happy about having their work posted elsewhere without their permission for it.
