Yeah once you make it into a habit it becomes a whole lot easier. :) Don't even need to think about those deposits anymore, just keep going, human to machine...

At 2/26/18 09:44 PM, DoctorStrongbad wrote: I guess some might want to stop at a certain level like 50 or 55? I have seen that happen in the past.

Now that we have the ability to change our level icon to any one we want though... wonder if people are still going to stop midway. I'd understand some might feel like they've reached the end of the line when they get up to Level 60, though! That one's pretty conclusive.

NOW WHERE WAS I?! Some of this shit I've left for six months noiw!

Well, you're late but not as late as me. :P

At 8/17/17 06:00 PM, Murray wrote: I've given him a call so let's see what's up!
He still hasn't appeared. Maybe if we call him by his old name Coop83? Will that help?

At any time I can give him a buzz on Facebook as I have him on there. ;)

Sorry to hear about your obnoxious neighbours at one point. That sounds like how mine used to be or at least the one guy that was always the problem.
Ah yes, I remember you wrote a bit about him. I mean, I like to play some songs at full volume from time to time, too. But I don't get why some people have to be loud at all times.

During one visit to my parents a while back, he was back to those old tricks. Only a few hours and I already had enough of it again. Where I am now is definitely heaven compared to over there with him around. Mind you, my friend aside I am not without issues with the other tenants. There is one who keeps leaving the front door open just for her cat to go in and out of the house, even though the landlord doesn't allow pets in any of the flats. At the very least she is aware that she shouldn't be doing this but still does it anyway...

Now I've got more beef with the former tenants that recently moved out. Now they were arsey ones. Once complained to me about hoovering my flat at 8 in the evening but the real pisstake with them was the fact that they complained to the landlord about my apparent heavy feet. Now I wouldn't have minded them telling me that except they didn't note this to anyone until AFTER they moved out and only then told the landlord. Why not just tell me at the time? In any case, there is still a vacant flat here so it's a wonder who will move in.

Dear me, you really haven't changed your internet habits. AIM, ICQ, IN 2017?!?!
Well, I'm not online in AIM very often, but I still remember the account + password. ICQ I use daily. Mostly because it's an easy way to communicate with my wife, lol. But seriously, it's much faster to write an ICQ message than to shout something and then only get a "whaaaaat did you saaaay?" back. :P

Hah, AIM is something I've long abandoned. Last time I even had use for it was communications while I was still a mod. At some point I dropped off all the IMs except for Skype and even that is seeing very little use now (if at all).

Awwww shit, so sorry to hear about all of what you and your wife have gone through. You wanted to have a family but fate has gone horribly against you in that aspect. I feel it's a bit of a personal subject but if your wife cannot give birth to a child, have you two had any thoughts on adoption? Stupid question, I know since surely that would have been considered at least once but I'm just finding out what the answer is.
It's not like she definetly can't have children, it's that sometimes a pregnancy just goes wrong, and it's really nobody's fault. Sometimes there's just an error when the chromosomes divide (it's the most common reason for a miscarriage). As I've said, it happens more often than one might think.

Yeah, that is very true. There are plenty of complications to it. Just really unfortunate that it's happened to you two. :(

Living in Houston long enough, this is--trust me--by design for events such as Hurricane Harvey a month ago. We stayed put for 5-6 days, then ventured out once the street flooding had gone down. All doing well, though my wife has a coworker or two with house damage (those things are on the ground level, never trusted 'em).

Hope you've fully recovered from that by now. I can't say I'm dealing with anything as bad weather-wise, although the colder weather we've had as of late took us all by surprise. The snow around here wasn't so bad (as per usual during blizzards in the UK) but those around the country have been snowed in and all that. I'm just wanting the weather to warm up a bit already so it's less money to put in for the heating.

At 8/17/17 05:58 PM, Murray wrote: Damn, that is way way less than what I remember it used to get. However, the last time I even got any B/P on my account was such a long time ago. Probably like 10 years now.
Yeah, the days of 200+ flashes submitted on CD are loooong in the past. You haven't gotten any b/p at ALL in 10 years? No way.

If I did get any in that time period, it was on some of my alts. Definitely been at least five years now since earning any points for any of my accounts in the judgment zone. That said, it's been at least five years now since I even last deposited on any of my alts. Now those all have long been inactive so now it's just my main to deal with these days.

Touché. I did feel like I dropped into obscurity on here after I moved away from Bahamut. It's a name I've long abandoned and the only times I even have that name around nowadays are my email address (although slowly phasing that out), my PSN ID and Last.fm. I only have it around for those two simply because I am unable to change my name for either of them.
... It's kinda sad that you've abandoned it, man.

Times change and usernames come and go. I tried to have different usernames both on here and other sites but I've just not found a better name to adapt to than Murray or any other variants of it.

My original online name from 1994 is still pretty much my default online name in 2017. 23 years and 3 months and counting. Sad or cool? Either way, it's somethin'!

Well it's a name you've happily kept since. I'm sure my Murray usernames will stick around with me for that long.

Thank you for all of them. It is indeed a lot accomplished in that time and I think the way things are going now, there's still tons more I'll be doing. One other accomplishment I have made in that time is finally getting myself to go on flights again. I went to Dublin last month for a weekend trip and that marked my first time on a plane in almost a decade! It was also my first time abroad since Paris in 2011 so I can only wonder what I'll get up to next year.
Groovy! I haven't flown since 2002, myself. My wife and I visited her mom in NYC shortly after 9/11... it was not a fun flight (and my wife was sick on the flight back... as in, sick before we boarded, sick the whole time, and sick once we were home, not airsick briefly on it), so even less fun. But my family flew so much in the 1980s and 1990s that if I never fly again in my life, I don't feel I'm really missing out. My quota was fulfilled by age 18, I had quite the childhood.

I wouldn't mind going on more flights. Was hoping to have some plans this year to go abroad but all of the plans have fallen through. Had Dublin in mind with a friend of mine but we've dropped that in favour of going to Bloodstock in August. He's not been to Bloodstock before but is making it a certainty this year due to Judas Priest headlining for one of the days.

I had also considered going to another metal festival in Czech Republic. It's actually on the same weekend as my birthday but like Dublin, plans are just not in my favours for it. Maybe 2018 isn't the year to go outside the country but I can always see about pinning something for 2019. One of these days I wanna go to a convention over in the states (of the cosplay variety). Some events that I've seen photos of look really amazing and it makes me feel like I'm missing out which is funny to say considering I attend like 20 of them a year over here.

Oh, and remember what I said about quitting the vapes and smokes? I failed on that. Ended up back on the vapes in November due to shit going on and then I threw myself on smokes again a while back when other shit was going down. Fortunately I'm off the smokes again and got myself a big vape to replace them so I'm feeling better with that. I'm just disappointed in myself for buying more packs of cigs this year already than I did for the whole of 2017 (only bought three 20 packs then).

And yes, I did go to the Guinness Storehouse while I was there and I must say, the Guinness was divine everywhere I went. Even the first pint there was like the best I ever had but now I'm back to sub level Guinness over here. :P
Hey, your "sub level Guinness" in the UK is still miles fresher and better tasting than the Guinness we get over here across the pond, so no complaining! But yes, I've heard it's best in Dublin at the source.

I suppose there is that but I still have the right to complain about it here. For pubs having it on draughts, they can still be alright but for sub sub level Guinness, that's bars using CANS for them as well as picking up cans from the supermarket but those are last resorts. However, I say that and managed to drink a whole 10-pack of Guinness the other night without any difficulties. Was only just watching Aladdin and then the Kill Bill films that night,

Also, when you say Dragon is credit to team, I gotta say... I don't think I'm as much of a dragon fan these days as I was back in the day. They're still awesome but I just lack that fascination for them these days. If not dragons, what animal/creature do I like most then? ....I guess goats... goats are metal!
Well, come up with a cool goat-related name and start going by that. Who knows, perhaps it'll catch on just as much as Bahamut did back in the day. What's that goat-headed deity called... :::googles it::: Baphomet? There you go.

Wow, you had to find a way with that. But nah, I don't need any more username changes on here unless by the off hand chance I wanna go back to the name Bahamut but I'd rather be going forwards than backwards and going back to that name is just going backwards.

When we actually post here, some habits of ours never die! :D

Hey, just means we'll have you around for a bit longer this time. :P As for me with the deposits, it seems I've missed yet another one very very recently. I knew I forgot one while I was away the other weekend but now I've slipped once again. Dang, I'm starting to get bad with this now. I won't be surprised if this was a missed one from not getting the deposit done before an 11 hour shift at work and then not remembering to do the daily deed at all when I got back home. Ah well, my rank is still secure for the time being if I stay sharp after this.
... if missing one deposit here and there is still a noteable thing to you, then I'd said you're doing fine. For me, the noteable thing is when I DO deposit. ;)

Well, I've missed two this year already. I'm trying to not slip too much but it seems at this point I'm gonna miss the odd one here and there. It's only been in recent years where this has started to happen when beforehand I was flawless with it. That said, I feel I'm getting to the point where I'm having to remind myself to deposit rather than doing it so easily without thinking about doing it. If I'm to stop soon, I'd like to at least reach the top 50 before that happens. I guess social media is one reason why depositing doesn't stick in my head as well as it once did. Instead of depositing first thing, it's now checking my Facebook and Instagram feeds.

You know you can use the @ tag, right? It's a good way to wake up some zombies. I'll try it now with @Coop! Failing that, I'll give him a shout on Facebook since he has that now!
No, I didn't know that. Newfangled social-media-integrationy mumbo-jumbo, I tells ya!

Gotta get with the times man! I say that and even some of the social media mumbo-jumbo gets me. I will say one thing I don't quite get the appeal of is Snapchat filters. Most of them are so overused that I see someone with it and think "Oh, just another Snapchat filter." It doesn't give them much of an identity.

Well, the tennis jokes were after school when a certain tennis player became more and more of a notable sports figure. At least I can say my very own name has trended numerous times on social media.
... After school? As in... in the afternoons? Or you mean once you graduated and were done with school for good?

Like when I finished school.

Definitely not BBS-wise. I'm long past being active on here but I'm still getting those deposits done. Other than that, I'm doing pretty much bugger all on here. I'm certainly not as engaged with the forums as I once was. Hell, that was why I ended up resigning as a mod cause I felt I wasn't keeping up around here so no point in remaining as a mod, particularly when users can query you about anything at any given time and I wasn't keeping up with that either.

Still all daily deposits though? Yeah that makes sense, though either way good to see you're still stopping by a bit! Some people seem all too busy to. I probably should be starting to get busier with other aspects of life than with this one, but it's just too good fun to stop.... race for stats and all that other inspiration. Feels like the daily dose of inspiration too.

Making progress can be tough, especially when you are busy with work, school, and a social life. Try to have a positive outlook, and always stand up to bullies no matter how many try to stop your progress.
