Youtube, deviantart, more people making their own sites and getting noticed quicker and slowly leaving Newgrounds so they can make more money. At least people like Egoraptor and Stamper still mention us from time to time.

Imo 47 is still quite a bit. Though I haven't been around in ~2006 where there was more activity then when I showed up, the fact that 50 people a day submit something they've worked on for days is still not bad. The average quality of submissions might've gone up too (or the people are more generous today).
For people like me who don't spend over 30 minutes per day b/p'ing, 50 submissions per day is more than I can play still.

Thats good that they still do that and such, but that sucks. This place was were you would go if you wanted to get noticed by the community. It shouldn't only be about the money and all, but that's whats driving them now I guess.

And well, 47 is good if you think about what is the current trend for submissions. I pulled the stats for the blams this day in 2006 and there were 188 submissions only in that category. So quite the difference. Truly I could only guess that the games and videos have gotten better since I don't frequent the portal anymore. There was a lot of shit submitted then that took minimal effort, they were still entertaining non the less for the most part. Times a changing I guess.

On a side note, my 8 years is coming up very hard to believe that.
