The thing is, how often do you hear console games just being broken from the start? It seems to happen more with Steam than anywhere else but none of them are excused in this case. Consumers shouldn't buy the games and be beta testers for developers.
I hear of game breaking bugs which might as well be broken, maybe something for the future where more developers could get fans (or just testers in general) to test games before it goes up so it is 100% working.
Heh, I even read an article regarding Steam/Valve inviting more to playtesting but my opinion on the whole Steam client still remains.

GOG is amazing. It'll probably never be as popular as steam is though, unfortunately. They actually make old games compatible with newer operating systems.
GOG is great, but I hardly use it because most of the games I want on there is:
1) On Steam
2) I own it and it still works
It is worth joining though for the free games you get for just signing up.
True, I've even seen a few free games in my GOG library. Hard to complain as free games are still free but expect them to collect dust.

WHAT YOU SAY?! Old memes don't die out. They will come back eventually.

Ehhhh, I could actually give All Your Base the pass. At least that's a classic.

While Half-Life IS on console, it's just not the same as the PC experience.
I wouldn't know, since I never played any Half-Life game, heh. But I played Resistance on PS3 and I still have to say, that ego shooters are best played with a mouse and a keyboard. Even though the controls for Resistance where pretty good.
Yeah, you just can't beat mouse and keyboard for FPS games.
I miss 2005 a lot.
I cannot name a specific year, but I sure miss the times when the portal was way more active.
2005 was really NG's peak of popularity. Each day had at least 200 submissions and a Clock Day would have to be lucky to even get that much nowadays.
Who needs an English version of Moskau?
People who don't speak German? Ok, the lyrics aren't really that important... but the "throw your glasses at the wall" part is pretty cool. "Wirf die Glaeser an die Wand! Russland ist ein schoenes Land! Hahahaha!"
Nah, Moskau is good as it is.

I'm pretty sure there's a way you can use your mouse and keyboard on a 360. It wouldn't be much different then, would it?
One problem: I have no 360.

I think it's mainly just a flaw of PC gaming. I haven't been into PC gaming that long so I'm not sure if it happens.. but have you ever bought a physical game that didn't work?
Define "didn't work". Is that either a game-breaking bug or something that while unstable can still be played?
So should I get The Orange Box on PS3 and play TF2 on that? :P Yeah, horrifying thought but this is where the 360 has an advantage for me if I had one.
If you like completely vanilla TF2 and you get that thing that lets you play console games with a mouse and keyboard it might not be to bad.
This is why a 360 is so tempting. I would happily go back to vanilla TF2. Hell, Valve should actually offer that option to provide vanilla mode for the game.
Yeah, I've been thinking I might have to bite the bullet on that. I know a friend of mine who frequents 4chan so I'll ask him if he sees any Steam accounts being sold.
I'm pretty sure people do occasionally sell steam accounts on /v/. I'm not really sure how it would work though.
I know it's a dodgy place but maybe, just maybe I can get what I want.
I'm clean from having an Xbox Live subscription. :P My problem with their online services is the monthly fee which I feel I won't ever be committed to make the money justified.
The monthly fee is awful. It cost $60 per year and the dashboard is absolutely full of ads? I don't know how they get away with that when PSN is is free, besides the optional PSN+.
Maybe I've not seen Xbox Live in full action but I feel a subscription for extras like PSN is doing is more reasonable. Hell, I don't even recall any ads on PSN so yeah, what is Microsoft's reason? I would have accepted ads on PSN seeing as the online services are free for me.
Or it's Silent Hill HD...
What was wrong with it? I've actually never even played a Silent Hill game.
The Silent Hill games themselves (well, the first three anyway) are masterpieces but the HD remaster was a joke. If the purpose of HD remasters is to play the game in better frame rate, graphics, etc but it failed at doing both of these, what am I really getting from them? I'm good enough with firing up my PS2 for SH2 and 3.
It's definitely the best for buying old games because they make it so they work better for newer operating systems. I'll probably buy any older games from GOG from now on.
Yeah, I still appreciate GOG for getting me able to play Duke Nukem 3D. Hell, I'll start praising them if they get Grim Fandango, Full Throttle and any other LucasArts games from the 90s on there.

Very much so - hard to pick a best album of theirs though, isn't it?
I'm always torn apart between self-titled, The Number of the Beast and Powerslave.
Still looks racist to me.
Fair enough - I can't really argue that point and still call Frankie Boyle a racist. A claim which the Mirror is going to defend in court on the grounds of "truth".
The Mirror, you say? You can expect me to be disgusted right away.
