Yeah, but look at Wayne Rooney and Fernando Torres in the Man U - Chelsea match last weekend. Awful penalty miss, awful open goal miss.
Yeah I found it amazing how weird that bowler could make the ball bounce off the ground. I guess they make the field extra smooth for that in professional games.I see. Is this similar to a baseball then?Similar, but most movement from a spinner comes from contact with the ground. Baseball is all done in flight.
Smooth is the wrong word. Sure, they cut the grass really short and they roll it a lot, so that the ground is hard, but the surface is quite abrasive and the ball starts to lose shine, from bouncing off it. You can have a new ball after 80 overs, which is 480 deliveries, not counting the times when you bowl a wide or no-ball, which adds one delivery.
I've helped to prepare the wicket for my team, which we do in a combined time of about 10 man-hours. County and International standard pitches probably take 5-10 times that much work. Cut it 5-6 times, each time getting closer to the "scalp", then roll it about as many times, with a 5 tonne roller and put the equipment away, disposing of the cuttings etc. Bring out the marking frame and line it up using all manner of contraptions, to ensure it's 22 yards from middle stump to middle stump. Paint the lines in, mark the stump holes.
Finally, mark the boundary and if you're playing on a Saturday, mark the inner circle out, 30 yards from middle stump at either end and straight lines between the two semi-circles. The players can move sight-screens and boundary markers into position.

Yeah indeed. Probably one of the best speeches I've heard from a coach who won the title :pYeah and they won the title if I'm not mistaken. I loved how he reused his speech from when he won the title with AZ Alkmaar in Holland. "Wir sind die besten von Dortmund! Wir sind die besten von Berlin! Wir sind die besten von Hamburg! Und jetzt sind wir die besten von Deutschland!".Yes, he won the league and the cup. Also, the speech was awesome.
A better speech would be: "Fuck 'em all!"
Yeah I know he's a bit of an arrogant dick, kinda like Mourinho. He wants everything done his way and he'll kick a scene over it if things aren't quite going as he wishes.Anyway, it sucks how coaches can go from hero to zero so quickly and always have to take the blame in the football industry. I feel sorry for some of them.Yeah, somtimes coaches need some time. But they don't get the time they need.
Anyway, I think van Gaal is more like a "dictator" and I guess some players just didn't like that. A man like Mario Gomez (who scored 28 goals last season!) is very sensitive. In one game he just hits the goal with every shot. In other games he wouldn't hit the empty goal from 2 meters away.
It may work for a year or two, but a guy who knows how to compromise should be a better coach in the long run.

You can do it by how many reviews left. For example: If you're 23 reviews from 2,500 put 23, rather than the day you think you'll get it. But like I said, it's usually a big goal. Like 2,000 or 3,000 reviews. Although IIRC Bahamut did a count down for going to the Londom meet, which isn't really a goal at all.

Yeah indeed. Probably one of the best speeches I've heard from a coach who won the title :pA better speech would be: "Fuck 'em all!"
Or: "Almighty God was with me. I want everyone to bear witness, I am the greatest! I'm the greatest thing that ever lived."
Yeah I know he's a bit of an arrogant dick, kinda like Mourinho. He wants everything done his way and he'll kick a scene over it if things aren't quite going as he wishes. It may work for a year or two, but a guy who knows how to compromise should be a better coach in the long run.
Well van Gaal has been in the business for quite some time now and I think he's always been that way. As long as he's succesful I guess people are willing to put up with it.

Yeah it's on the radio from time to time.
Then he would grab his nail gun and shoot a pin right through my skull 0.oHe wouldn't do that as long as your cool face is cool enough.
That woman in the next to last scene? He propably didn't kill her because she put on her cool face.
People always do the same thing.
What do they do?
They put on their cool face.

Finally managed to reach my goal of becoming a Praporshchik

It has come to my attention that I have broken the 3,000 blams mark -- in a day where saves are so much more common, this is a special milestone for me.

I thought we were talking about rugby. Yeah cricket wouldn't work but it would be fun to have it bounce off one wall to hit another.
Ah yes. The gesture of solidarity for my cancer-riddled bretheren.
Maybe you can get in free at Disney world or get a pity date from some hot chick.

Did I say beard - I meant pubes. The beard is something I might actually take dye to - you cant' rule something like that out, when you're only 28, after all.
Actually, I could be biased as well. I'm saying the album isn't good based on some horrible tracks but my defence is that it's a concept album and that experience is ruined if there's songs you don't even want to touch ever again. There may be good songs but the horrid ones ruin the concept album experience.Maybe it's just me being biased then.
I think that it's something that I can quite happily blend in with the rest of the 1500 tracks on my iPod and I can skip if I want to. Just depends on the mood.

We only have 15 minute breaks and some people on my team already had trouble staying sharp after that...Yeah, but look at Wayne Rooney and Fernando Torres in the Man U - Chelsea match last weekend. Awful penalty miss, awful open goal miss.
As for Torres, my God... that was just terrible. I saw some more pretty big misses in the game. Namely the ones by Ramires early on in the match and Javier Hernández near the end. For Hernández that chance came out of nowhere so might not have counted on it, but Ramires should've scored that one.
Well, it'll be interesting to see how the players carry on around those misses. I suspect that Rooney won't care, because one good thing about being a Neanderthal is that he has a short memory span.
Sounds like quite a lot of work :p On our football fields there was a just a guy who repainted the lines like once every few months and the grass was cut like twice a year and was probably kept short by the football players anyway with all that sliding and stomping they do on the pitch.Yeah I found it amazing how weird that bowler could make the ball bounce off the ground. I guess they make the field extra smooth for that in professional games.Smooth is the wrong word.
If everyone pitches in (sorry, that pun was awful), we can get it done in no time at all.
It's gotta be a pretty good reason though if it has to be more important than a weading."Hey uh... Coop. We need a fourth player for our card game."Pretty much. I'm hoping for inconvenience on the part of a friend's anniversary.
But with the circumstances, I'd be willing to make an appointment to go elsewhere and wash my hair. ANything will be better than that.

Not really - I've come to accept my geeky / nerdish side and I still play games like D&D. If people don't accept you, that's their problem. I just make sure that I don't tell the people I play cricket with about it - they wouldn't understand.

Wow, what a bitch.
Well I hope yo ucan continue to review in free time anyways. Found a couple the other day that I reviewed. Does it ever annoy you that sometimes when writing a helpful constructive review that people will vote it as useless simply because they don't want to read it?I know there are loads of quality pieces that I can review, but I never seem to have time to review them afterwards. FLying visits to the portal FTL :(We'll see. I'm aiming to get myself sorted with that and find a steady diet of flash, to tide me over.Ahh, I see. Whenever I vote on something in the portal, I'll watch it again if it passes and I liked it so I can give it a good review.
I really couldn't care less - if they want to be dicks like that, let them. I know that it's useful, it's just whether or not the author wants to make use of the review. I prefer writing reviews that get responses.
Ahh I see then. Which makes me think, Harry Pothead was humorous game back in the day I think.Oh come on. I'm 28. There's no way on earth I want to look like Hairy Pothead*shudders* No, better yet *messes up style slightly*Why would you do that?
I'm not sure - I just use it as a parody name, much like Barry Trotter or the Soddit.

Confusing conversations between you and Auz, I think. Not to worry. I've seen Arena Football League and that's just silly.
