I'm just about done for the day (I said that to myself an hour ago) but it's tough to quit when I'm so close to Stormwarden. With the exception of recycle_your_pets I thought Stormwarden was one of the coolest names on the site.

Haha! I know what you mean buddy! Just when you're getting ready to pounce the person you're chasing decides to start voting again. I think a big part of staying on the chart is consistency, just getting your personal quota for the day. I alway try for 50 - 60 points on a work day and maybe 10 on my days off. So far today I've managed to snag about 30 points but I'll have to cut it short pretty quick as I have a Thanksgiving dinner to go to (don't want to miss that, yum).

Hmm... Sounds quite impossible. I don't really get it.
You can't deposit twice a day, it's impossible, there are the IP tracers and everything.
And I guess that even if a friend of yours (imagine you're in the USA, your friend's in India), and you ask him to deposit for you a few hours after you do, so that there is time difference, no cookies, not the same IP and everything, in order to deposit TWICE a day... but I still think it wouldn't work !

Still just depositing once every NG day though, but abusing the fact the profiles update at about 3am EST, after I go to work. At the weekends it all goes back to normal, as I don't deposit early. Nope. Let me set an extreme example. Suppose I deposit at one minute before midnight and then one minute after midnight. Because the profile updates at about 2.30, I will have got 20 points since the last time the profile updated. But clearly I can't do that every day. Can't deposit more than 10 in a given NG day, and because of the way it works, on the Saturday profile update I get 0 points and on the Monday update I get 20, because of the hours I work. To reemphasise, I only ever get 10 in any given NG day.

Yeah.... but what if newgrounds is running crappily, and when you try to deposit at such a late time, you can't get your vote in. You just missed a day of depositing because you wanted it to "go up" 20 in one day on the list. I deposit at the earliest possible time of the new day to make sure I don't miss out.

Heh, I do the same thing Brian_Griffin. My cycle of a new NG day starts at 6pm. I don't need to depoist at 12am like some. ;-)

This is just a test. My account was acting weird and since I just found out my password was changed I'm guessing this post will get through. My thanks to Wade & liljim for fixing the problem. Essentially I couldn't log off but at the same time I couldn't post or vote. This morning it let me deposit my experience for the day and after that it gave me the now famous error crap. Post it!

I don't actually deposit at one minute to midnight, I was just using that as an extreme example of my erratic depositing patterns. I deposit more or less when I get up, which is before the profile updates during the week, and after at the weekends.

Yeah, I know you don't deposit 1 minute before, but what if NG dies at around 9pm (EST) and you deposit at a later time so you could do that 20 point thing, you may miss out on that day's experience. Depositing at the first possible time of the new day will gaurantee taht you won't miss anything. (I usually deposit within the first 5 minutes of the new day.)
