Just settling down to watch the Yankees and Phils get the World Series underway. I might be back later, but that depends on how the game goes, I suppose :PIt's turning out as I expected so far. The Yanks were close to getting run up in the first but since has calmed down.
... And just as I typed that, Utley single HR.
It was a long night and it kinda hurt me to watch the Yanks being outplayed. Mind you, if there's any team that can bounce back, we can and against Pedro, we're going to split this homestand and head back to Philly on a high.
I predicted Lee would be a stumbling block, but he can't win all 4 games of a World Series, so I;m still confident.

Of course it does. It saves energy because it will be light outside until much later so that you don't have to put the lights on in your house. I know "wintertime" is normal time actually, but keeping the time at daylight saving time would be much better for everyone (except the energy companies).

Okay, let's say we just set the clock to daylight savings and never touch it again. Would we really benefit from that in the "wintertime"? For example you have to get up at 6, normally the sun would set at 7. But we set the clock forward for one hour, right? So the sun doesn't set before 8. What do you do? You turn on the lights... it's one and the same thing, really only that you don't turn on the lights in the evening but in the moring. Plus in the winter you'd have to go to work/school/etc in the dark, because the sun would set so late.
If there is any "energy saving effect" it would be so small that the whole thing would be just useless and cost more money to get it all set up than we could possibly save from it in our lifetime.

Well not that many people I know wake up that early. I myself wake up at about 6:45 and I've never heard anyone who wakes up earlier at my faculty (because they all live closer by). After about 30-40 minutes I leave the house. In midwinter it will still be dark then, whatever time it is. Then in the evening I could enjoy the daylight for an hour longer, so even in my case I would save about 20-30 minutes of energy.
It might not be an awful lot, but I think it would save energy in the end. Also I think the environment is a much more important factor than the money it would save per family.

There are people that have to get up at 5 or even earlier (when my gf finally starts working as a doctor, she would have to get up pretty early). So I'd still say the saved energy by setting the clock forward one hour would only be marginal, if existant at all.
It might not be an awful lot, but I think it would save energy in the end. Also I think the environment is a much more important factor than the money it would save per family.
Yeah, I shouldn't have used the word "money" in my last paragraph. To be honest, I don't even know what exactly I was trying to say with it anymore. ^^
Anyway, I'm not totally against your idea, I just misunderstood you in the beginning, I just realized that today. All I want is that politicians get rid of this stupid "set clock back/forth one hour" thing and I realized that if we just set our clocks forward for one hour and then leave it at that, we would achieve the same thing I voted for in the beginning: Getting rid of that "set your clock"-thing. :)

They were really letting Pedro have it; I see there is still no love lost between the NY fans and him.
Game 3 probables: Pettitte v Hamels. I think this really depends on how Hamels does; he has been up and down a lot this season, but has done fairly well in the postseason. And of course, there is no DH for this game, so no game-changing homer for Matsui.

Yeah, but just one, and it's only worth five points - and it'll likely be the last one, too, as I didn't really enjoy the game. It mostly seems to consist of killing enemies, running out of ammo, switching to your lead pipe, picking up ammo again.. and then running out again, and so on. Picking up other weapons the enemies packed didn't seem to work; I'm not sure it's supposed to, but... well, I just didn't enjoy it that much.
This looks froody.
