Next weekend - I've got the top 100 Responses list to update today (Pull done and we're rolling along so far) and that leaves me with about an hour or so to update the list next week. Should be good for that :)

Why? To increase the amount of achievements? If we downgrade the Blams congratulation threshold, people would assume the same for the Saves and B/P totals. Plus, reaching milestones in Blams can be quite special, especially if you're closing in on some of the ranking positions, like me, almost entering the top 100 Blammers

Yeah, plug points for laptops are certainly the biggest problem. What we need is a wireless power connection!

My achievement:
I'm now a Police Captain. Well, actually I'm not, I still need 2 B/P points, but I post it now so I won't have to make another useless post.
The Police Captain is the best "police" badge. Also the last one...
You entered the top 1000 in B/P Points. Outstanding!

Well then SOMEBODY should make an announcement saying the we lowered the blam threshold but it does not go the same for Saves and B/P! Simple as that!At 10/25/08 05:38 AM, Coop83 wrote:At 10/24/08 06:37 AM, darknessdweller wrote: Ya know, guys, we should really conisder lowering our standards for blam acheivements considering they are sooo hard to get. Why? Or we could stop thinking about messing up the system that has worked so well for the past 3+ years and just get on with our lives.
The last major overhaul to the system was the addition of Audio Reviews, because that was a new stat that was created. We have a lower threshold for Reviews, because most people write so few of them that it's impractical to congratulate every 1,000 Reviews.
People will continue to get Blams, just at a slower rate than they used to. That's life, get over it.
These days it is. By 2010, The Portal will have 2 blams a day, and 450 saves a day! THIS JUST FUCKING PISSES ME OFF!!!!Plus, reaching milestones in Blams can be quite special
If it pisses you off so much, leave. We don't have to do anything on this site, which is what makes it so great. Some people have carved out reputations for Posting on the BBS (HotActionYiffFur, for example) without gaining experience. I've chosen to go for the stat whore option, while others have chosen to go for something else entirely, like you.
Ah yes, that is a big milestone isn't it?especially if you're closing in on some of the ranking positions, like me, almost entering the top 100 Blammers
I'll leave you to think on that one for a while. I'll have over 18,750 Blams by that point and considering there will be only 99 people on Newgrounds with more Blams ever, I have now presented the evidence.
Thanks for voting, Faggard! Your experience has been automatically deposited!
With that vote, you now have 2,840 experience points. You need 0 more to get to Level 17. The next Grounds Gold day begins in 15 hours, 2 minutes, and 55 seconds.

So are any of you guys on holidays now? Were I still in secondary education I'd have a week off, but since I'm in college I haven't a break. Oh well, at least I get a month off for Christmas (although unlike most ofmy classmates, I won't spend it drinking, an anomaly in Ireland ;D)

I remember I went through a phase like that - I supported Aston Villa, Juventus, Borussia Dortmund and Barcelona, until I got bored of football for a while and got into American Sport. Now I'm just a Villain, who keeps an eye on the European Leagues.

I just wonder how shit like that will work - if people can cause interference, wouldn't people with pacemakers and suchlike have to stay well clear of wireless power routes?

You make it sound like everything other than sitting in front of Newgrounds is such a herculean effort. You do a lot for the international stereotyping of Americans.
But of course I, and many others just started making LUL Lists0 just weeks ago! So, mayve it'll be just us newer LULers that congratulate lower amounts for blams! Liek, every 500!Well then SOMEBODY should make an announcement saying the we lowered the blam threshold but it does not go the same for Saves and B/P! Simple as that!Or we could stop thinking about messing up the system that has worked so well for the past 3+ years and just get on with our lives.
No, because I believe that this place works the same as a club or crew (see the Clubs and Crews forum for more details) Myself, Bahamut and Haggard act as the leaders, since we have been here for a considerable amount of time. You can't suddenly appear and change the rules of the club. Doing that is something that people in the club are fully within their rights to contact a mod and ask for your removal for.
Noone else has a problem with these guidelines, why do you?
People will continue to get Blams, just at a slower rate than they used to. That's life, get over it.Not life. Just teh savewhores wanting to get teh Sup. Commander using only saves!
There aren't actually that many of them around. Lots of users just get lots of Saves, because there are lots of Saves out there. Sure, not everyone votes how a movie or game should be scored, but that wouldn't change the face of the Portal a lot, when you look at it. The few more Blams and Few less saves would move the see-saw, but it would generally remain that Blams are still scarce
Trust me, it is a big milestone! And you'll be teh 100th person on Newgrounds to reach said blam amount.Ah yes, that is a big milestone isn't it?I'll leave you to think on that one for a while. I'll have over 18,750 Blams by that point and considering there will be only 99 people on Newgrounds with more Blams ever, I have now presented the evidence.
I know it's a big milestone. I was practising the art of sarcasm, which you are apparently ignorant of.

I supported only Bayern München for more than 20 years. During that time I too went through phases where I hadn't been interested in football that much (I also got interested in american sports, most of all basketball and ice hockey).
During my holydays in Scotland I got interested in Partick Thistle as well(because I stayed in a hostel right next to the Firhill Stadium ^^).
