I thought Shanus meant it'll take me 1.2 years to reach level 46. Unless I misunderstood him that would be a jump of 5 levels in a very short time.

They're both coming out at around the same time, I think. The new season is said to start next February.

Yup, 1.2 years until Recon reaches level 46, a 1.2 year gap is about what it would've taken in the old system to go up a level.
