Another stopper. I wonder if I will stop when I hit 30,000 points? I guess only time will tell!
Do keep on going, it's worth it.
Based on my own personal experience, I think I can say that you may well experience some sort of "midlife crisis" after you get there, since there are no new ranks to reach anymore; you'll probably feel that it doesn't really matter whether you've got 31861 or 37293 points, but there's still the 10k steps. How you feel about blamming and saving will start to depend on these cycles (or at least, it did for me) - it'll feel more and more pointless, but when you get closer to the *0k goal, you'll pick up a bit, and actually reaching it will give you a huge emotional boost that lasts for at least 1500 or 2000 more points. :) After that, it'll wear off, slowly; the key is to keep going anyway until you get closer to the next *0k goal.
In the meantime, you can also keep yourself motivated by minor goals where you reach *k points, or *k blams or saves. (Myself, I feel that those are pretty pointless by now, but they're better than nothing.) And of course, *0k blams or saves goals are still there, too, as well as the "move up another spot in the ranklist and pass $BIGNAME" goals. :)
That being said, I can't yet say what it'll like beyond 100k; I suspect that the *0k goals will lose lustre, too, and that this may lead to a lot of frustration (reaching 200k would be still huge, of course, for example, but who can do that?) - I wouldn't be surprised if this was part of the reason why ramagi and Denvish mostly retired. But I'm really just speculating there...
In any case, I certainly recommend continuing even after you reach EGSC. It'll feel quite different, but that only means your journey will just have started. ;)
