What I was thinking of was that there's that pyramid game of solitaire where all the numbered cards count for their number, J counts as 11, Q as 12, K as 13. And I was thinking A stood for 14, but it actually stands for 1 in that one, too.

And then K = take it off the board because it equals 13, and for all the rest, you gotta match them up with another card to add 'em up to 13 (such as A + Q, 2 + J, 3 + 10, 4 + 9, etc.)
