I've never played that, fortunately
Consider yourself lucky. That so-called "board game" would give you nightmares you wouldn't believe.

My favourite is Hogfather (Maybe Mort as well) but I'm still floating around in the clouds (a shame it's raining, really) since Sky announced that they're doing a Real life / CGI production of Hogfather over Xmas. December 17th, Sky One, for all those of you who have access to UK Cable / Satalite
I don't. :/ But then, I'm not usually too keen on movie adoptions of books, anyway. Mmm, to me, Hogfather was OK, but not the best Discworld novel ever written - I prefer (outside of the aforementioned Maskerade) The Truth, Reaper Man and Men-At-Arms, for example. (I hope I got the titles right; I'm too lazy to look up the English ones...)

Well, parents have the advantage of already having been there, so knowing what kids are like. They try to prevent it, because they want to have had more fun as a child than you!
Fortunately for me, as a child of the 80s, I was never banned from games for them being too rough or the school having the threat of a lawsuit over their head each time I fell over in the playground. I only had my parents go ape shit for me throwing sticks, stones and on one occasion a house brick up a tree to get the conkers down.
I've never played that, fortunatelyConsider yourself lucky. That so-called "board game" would give you nightmares you wouldn't believe.
I'll take your word for it

Well, I was referring to the youth of Terry Pratchett, as he was a youthful 35 when Colour of Magic was published back in 1983 (See, it has a great vintage). Therefore when Equal Rites was published, he was about 37 - 38.
Everybody knows that when Granny Weatherwax was born, she may have had the body of an infant, but she had the mind of a 40 year old as a head start.

Correct on all three counts! Want another coconut?
Interesting side not here - Men at Arms and Reaper Man were the first two discworld novels I read
But the main thing being that Pratchett seems to be the only person who can get away with such a religious satire as Hogfather - had anyone else tried it, the church would have been up in arms with cries of "Blasphemy!"

Aaw, go on. It's fun to jump all over the bandwagon and it won't be the same without the Scally Dragon
Due to program crashes today, I've done this post 4 times. If I missed anyone, I'm sorry!

it was the same thing with me as well so don't feel to bad because a lot of people had to go through that because of pimp. I could have told you that you would have leveled down due to pimp's depositing though.

Yes it can be but you should switch before its too late and if have to go with your profile id.

Great work now you wont have to suffer when the NG staff decides to get rid of letting the members select their own alias. You can go with any combination of dashs as long as your numbers are in the correct order, as for all these rebels they shall be forced with just one id alias and can never change it.
Yes I think suicide is funny and I am sick of pretending its not.

you know you could ask the Someone in the Sig maker club to do that I am sure someone there would be more then happy to help you with this. Oh congrats on 911 in EXP

Level 10 finally! Not the greatest icon though!
Do you have 2,500+ b/p points? Are you looking for an intelligent club where you can discuss NG related and unrelated topics? Join the Elite Guard Barracks!
Since I'm gonna be studying for exams over the next week or so, I figured I'd post this now as I have a bit of spare time and I don't want to forget.
2 Years approaching on NG as of next Wednesday.
Things I could have : Lvl 14 with 7300 exp. I've only deposited about every second day. I saw DoD posted that he was 911 in exp now (congrats)...I could be above that, which is weird considering I haven't even broken 2500 yet.
BBS Posts - At 5 per day I could have 3500, or 7.5 per day have 5400. I'm actually glad I still have a low post count, as I think it shows that I put more effort and thought into my posts. I usually only post in topics I find interesting or amusing.
Blams/Protect - Assuming my 5 movies that I voted on per day were under judgement and I got 3 or 4 of them right, I could have about 2555 B/P points. Maybe even double that if I showed a bit of commitment.
Reviews - 1 Per day would not be much to ask, especially if I'm watching incoming portal movies. Let's just say about 700.
Whistle - Silver for sure...Gold would be tricky.
I've been coming to the site a lot more recently, thats for sure. I think the only stat that I'm disappointed in would be exp.
As much as we say it doesn't matter, I find myself often skipping posts of people that don't have a level as high as me. (Unless of course its Crimson or someone...)
Hopefully I'll keep up and next year at this time I'll have a better outlook!
end of stat post :P

Sure. :)

*noddles* I started with "Small gods", myself.
But the main thing being that Pratchett seems to be the only person who can get away with such a religious satire as Hogfather - had anyone else tried it, the church would have been up in arms with cries of "Blasphemy!"
*looks at her coconuts* Hmm. I'm pretty sure that others did even more obvious satires, and that there was an outcry from the church(es), too.
It was even banned in Norway (fundamentalist blockheads...) - and promptly advertised in Sweden as "the movie that's so funny it's banned in Norway". ;)

Sorry, did you just say something? I skipped over your post, since you're not as high a level as I am. ;)
