Yeah, you two are in a sorta "save-off." I do have to admit, though, that doesn't sound quite as cool as being in a "blam-off." But anyway...
WHO WILL WIN!? FIND OUT SOON.

And I'm actually Recon's future, too. But only by 2 hours.

DRIMARKI IS BACK! Apparently, at least. For weeks and weeks he's been at 7443 b/p points on the top 50 list, and when I looked at the list today, he was at 7444.
So... either he's back, or someone else blammed something with his account.
In any event... Why on earth hasn't he posted yet?

Uh, yeah? Look at the top 50 list, man. What does it say?
7,444
Look at his profile. What does it say?
BLAMS: Involved in the termination of 4,789 crappy entries.
SAVES: Assisted in the protection of 2,655 quality entries.
What did it say for the past month every time I checked it to make sure it hadn't changed as I updated my top 50 protectors list?

Goodnight, gfoxcook. I'm a pretty logical person, but the most logical explanation I can give is that perhaps there was an entry to the portal that was so utterly crappy, that the spirit of Drimarki left his body and logged onto NG just to help blam the piece of shit. Just a little far fetched, huh? I think you'll agree.

spancker was depositing for him while he was gone. Maybe spancker deposited for him in the spirit that he might return & inadvertently picked up a point. I think he'd be polite enough to tell us he was back instead of a cloak & dagger routine. Besides gfoxcook, if Drimarki was back he would've passed me by now. I really wish he was back but I think it's just a ghost story. Canucks have tied it 1 - 1 at the start of the second. If they win this it's bye-bye Minisota. Watching the game and checking the portal. Back later.

Wasn't Drimarki getting exp points but unable to post on BBS? That's what I was thinking. Spancker was getting points for _lightning_.

Yes. People may have confused who Spancker was getting exp for.
maybe Dirkmarki is getting points for spancker???

No he's not. Drimarki had more than 100 more exp than me when he left in early April. Now I'm at 2010 and he's still at 1875.
If Spancker IS depositing for him, he's not doing a very good job. #;-}> As someone else suggested, I think you're thinking of Spancker depositing for lightning while he was gone, or whomever.

Maybe so, maybe not. Maybe he had the chance to vote on ONE movie from a friend's house where his parents wouldn't know he was on NG. heh. In any event, I'm going with redrum's explanation till someone provides a better one. No offense to yours, man, but Drimarki has been at 1875 for weeks, so there's no way Spancker's depositing for him.

Okay people, NOW there's absolutely no denying it. More points have amassed, he's not only past 7444 instead of being stuck at 7443 now, he's gotten up to 7447:

Most interesting. 1 blam, 3 protects now.
If someone else IS voting with his account, please say something if you see this. Otherwise, guys, it's clear: He be BACK! And I couldn't be more happy, cause I was feeling kinda guilty about passing him while he couldn't do anything about it. heh.

You may be interested to learn that this is probably related to some stuff I've been doing. Every now and then, when a submission is removed or protected the query that acknowledges that fails... Meaning that users lost out on points. I just put something together that will run regularly and check for these failed queries; updating the blam/protect stuff accordingly.

Whoa. O_o That explains why I just got about 6 protects I wasn't expecting, as well. Looks like of all of us speculating here, it was only XKwiziTOnE who was correct about the reason for the mysterious point gains.
