11 - “Dark Truths”

“They want our secrets, our truths,” muttered Fifth, “Do they deserve the right?”
“To be true means to be honest,” replied the Seventh, “But the truth hurts.”
“What are you rambling on about?” roared Bahamut. “Why did you kill my submission?”
“Ah, I guess we have no choice but to tell.” smiled Seventh. “Marcus, out of all people, you here are most aware of the Portal crisis.”
Marcus swallowed, trying to hide a face of mixed emotions. “Yes, what about it?”
“We were smart enough to see those who saved the world. I’m just disappointed at the outcome of all your friends.”
Marcus’ face turned red as Williams interrupted, “So, what’s your point?”
“The point is,” Seventh smirked, “As Marcus would have known, a submission is created by threads from the Heart of the Portal.”
Marcus jerked his head up in shock at the fact that someone would know such things. He had never discussed such powerful knowledge with anyone but with those who were directly involved in the crisis. “How do you know that?”
“We went further to study the threads that created the submissions. And the only one that we had direct access to was Bahamut’s. All we needed was a strand of DNA and…”

“So you killed my submission just to find out what it had in its genes?” Bahamut stepped forward, punching Seventh in the face with his right fist. Seventh only grinned as two teeth fell out with a pool of blood.
“We found out more than that,” he said, wiping his face clean with a white handkerchief from his pocket. “We learnt of some of the things that the Creator of the city kept secret.”

“So you guys are really after what is in the Creator’s core?”
“Yes.” said Fifth. “Our leader Seventh is a determined man. Without him, we would have never reached this far.”
“I can’t believe you went all the way to steal books from the Endless!” Aviewaskewed said, while producing his metallic rod. “You guys must be pretty determined. See this? It’s an electromagnetic pulse. Unfortunately for you, nano bots and pulses don’t mix.”
“Such things do not matter to us,” smiled Fifth, “Our task is done here.”
“Your task? What task?” Bahamut seemed ready to punch Seventh again; “You think you are a big leader of the group and all, but it’s obvious you aren’t. You’re mad and crazy…I can’t believe we were up against people as stupid as you.”
“Why are you telling us all this?” asked Inuyasha, “I mean, you’re disadvantaging yourselves. If you really wanted to get into to the Creator’s core, you shouldn’t have mentioned anything to us.”

A dark bloodied smile twisted on both the men’s faces. Seventh laughed as he stared at the ceiling with his hands stretched outwards. Slowly stopping his chortles, he lowered his face until his darkest stare was level with the others.
“You don’t know anything, do you?” Seventh’s tone was dark and evil and the others flinched at such a voice. “You keep saying the Creator, the Creator, but do you really know who he is?”
“Does it matter?” stuttered Marcus.
“Oh, to you it would. And you too Bahamut, for your friend, Mazza knew this man.”
Bahamut shivered as Seventh seemed to predict his mind. “I don’t care. What happened to the Syndicate’s party Marcus?”
“It was cancelled the moment the Department men arrived. We secured the perimeter, but there were no signs of the other Stars.”
“Oh dear me,” said the Seventh, “You do know the Creator constructed the city using Ancient technology? His mind made this city as grand as it is.”
“Fine then,” Marcus grumbled, “Tell us.”
Fifth laughed, “Are you not so blind to see the truth that stands before us all? The Creator made the most marvellous things and they’re all just a few doors away from us…right in the centre of this very city.”
Seventh laughed. “The city’s creator is… Dobio!”
And as Seventh said the name, he and Fifth pulled out knives. Without hesitation, yet with preciseness, they thrust the knives into their hearts. As their death finally reached them, the two both shattered to the ground in a pile of smouldered smoke. Marcus fell to the ground as he realized the name that had just been given to him, ignorant of the Star’s suicide. If the other Stars got into the core, all would be lost. Everything. As panic enveloped Marcus’ mind, the voices around him became muted silences, meaning nothing. As pain roared in the man’s mind, the world around him went black with Dobio in his mind.

This is quite an interesting developement. I would suggest a race, except I'm afraid I would lose as you guys have a slight head start on me. Either way, it is very interesting that we've been crawling up the scale together. Congrats to you both on reaching the top 500 users for B/P. I guess it will take us a while to get top 300 anyways. And like harryjarry said, maybe we'll all arrive at the same time. I'd say everyone should watch out for the three of us, because we've become a B/P force to be reckoned with...
