You know, chances are I won`t review music that is not recently launched if the other reviews for the songs aren`t responded.
If you make a review, you mainly want them to see it, right? A review that isn`t seen by the author is a complete waste, except for review count +1, of course.
So.. I think responding to reviews is a huge leap if you want to get a lot of reviews.
yeah so respond to the ones i gave you lol im doing that at the mo but the best way is to get regular reviewers and keep up to date with thier stuff as well you get out what you put in.
Meh... for the last while I try to review Audio Forum regulars as much as possible, they are those who are most likely to respond and/or hit you back too.
I think there are different kind of reviewers I have been, it`s
Special Interest Reviewers
Who only look at and review a certain kind of stuff like video game remixes from a special kind of game like Mario or Sonic, or only christmas related songs. In the very start of my Newgrorunds carreer I was a typical Special Interest Reviewer, Mario Remixes was what I was interested in.
However, these songs may be made ages ago and therefore not be very attractive.
Response rate: Fairly low
Famous Stuff reviewers
Those who only review the famous stuff like ParagonX9, the chances of getting a respond is kept to the minimum, because they have loads of reviews already, and those who made the songs has seemingly left or are nearly never active.
Response rate: Minimal
New Songs Only Reviewers
Who review only the very newest songs for a very high response chance rate. New songs, the authors are often active in this time.
Response rate: High
Unknown Authors reviewers
They mainly review the authors that are nearly never reviewed or such. These suthors are easy to find at the part of a special genre with a score of 2.50.
These reviewers have one special thing they want, to get them out of the dark unknownness.
The response chance is fairly high because these have much more time in their hands responding to reviews.
Response rate: Fairly high
Mass Reviewers
Really high review counts like 400-500, but sadly most of them are only one-liners and a "hit me back plz" in the end. All they want is reviews for themselves, and not reviewing the songs.
Response rate: Medium
Essay Writers
DATZ ME.
Well, not really, but you must agree I have written some really dtailed reviews in the last while. Anyways, these reviewers actually REVIEW the song, and not only leave a quick message. They go over what I call a reviewers "duty", and write long, detailed reviews, often suggesting how they can improve their song.
A good example must be MaestroRage and -Lacriso.
Rasponse rate: High
Eats-All Reviewers
They could pick anything from the portal, and sit down and review it. Reviewing outside the genre is smart, seeing the "contest element" within the same genre is removed.
Response rate: REALLY high
Am I wrong writing this? Is it wrong writing as if I was an expert when I signed up in middle 2006?
YES! And I`m proud of being a n00b! (Or, mediocre n00b)
:D
