erm well I found it on this site TVFusion

that site is dailymotion

Yeah, but it sucked ass. That still doesn't change the fact that I liked it though. :P

I have a bunch of media mogul labrats that see films for me, and based on their responses, I debate on whether I should see a film or not, unless it is undeniably cool. Snakes on a plane struck me as a deliberately chessy film, but maintains its seriousness well. I still have not seen it though.

They haven't got back to me on Casino Royale yet. Sounds like a sandwich in a Vegas resaurant.

mmm, sandwich.

Well, movies around here are about $7.00 now for a DAYTIME showing. Is Casino Royale worth me paying that much?

Where does one get a $7 ticket? They are 10 bucks around the clock here.

Whoo I just finnished the last test for this year (we only had two). The first one was about acoustic physics, and the one I just finnished was about "material", basicly it was a very broad test that included both basic acousitc physics, mixers, effect units such as compressors, EQ and time based effects, mic´s etc etc...

I thought I was gonna flunk bigtime since I barley studied anything (one hour this morning... :), but it felt really OK actually. I´m quite confident at least I´ll pass...

At UNI level (at least in sweden) there´s no grading system... Either yo upass or fail. To pass 50% of the total scores was need, and that i should have I belive.

So, the remaining time at school we will work with different projects now, amongst other we´ll record some bands, set the sound for some concerts etc. Also I will have to make a personal project, wich I think I will make either about making computergame-music, more atmospheric stuff, or I will try to work out a personal DnB-soud, meanning I will record and create all sounds from skratch, using the equipement available at school. If I do, and I do it good, I will have a basic "setting" for making that kind of music... But´we´re talking loads of work, from recording to working samples so they all more or less fit perfectly, like a giant xomplex EQ-puzzle :) And even with a good base that I´ve created and know, it will probably take a long time to make a song anyway...

Geeh, i hate having to be patient >:(

So Rucklo, u study audio engeneiring right? how is it? are u able to work at the same time?

Response to The Audio Forum Lounge 2006-11-27 12:31:58

Im not really studying audio engeneering, but i study a year of courses that are within the three years program of audioengeneering... so basicly i do all the fun stuff, and not so much maths and so :)

sure im able to work, but i wont do that, since i try to focus on the studies instead... + im lazy... i wouldnt mind working with sound like live shows etc, but i really dont have the experience or knowledge to do so good at this moment... but im getting the hang of it :)

Its fun shit, problem is that the more you learn about audio, the longer it take to make a song... :(

the best thing i can tell u, is to know your gear. understand your software. then u have to try to find out how to make the sounds in your head with your gear.

throw darts... How the hell have you been you audio engineering fool. Drop me a line sometime so we can get started on the next fuck-up of a MAC.

To the rest of you - Whats up all you AF bitches!

So then, in my pursuit of neato-peachy-keen ways to destroy audio I've stumbled across a cool little Audition 2.0 trick - after loading up your file, make sure you're in edit mode and switch to spectral frequency display (which is a great way to perform certain types of edits by the way) and break out your lasso tool. Now using the add and remove modifiers on your lasso, carve out a copyright or your initials or whatever into your waveform. Make a selection then mute it. Basically you're removing these frequencies from your file.

Depending on where you carve you might get some strange eq sweeps but if you carve out some of the much higher freqs then it may not change the sound much at all. It really depends on the file you're working with.

Once you've exported the sound it will have a frequency watermark that could serve as a copyright a special little message or just for the hell of it.

This is also a great way to get some crazy sweeps if you're into that sort of thing.

See?

Why does that wave look so scary, all red and dark?!?!?! lol

Response to The Audio Forum Lounge 2006-11-27 22:13:29

Ok Guys

Chronomut brought it up earlier, about an introduction thread, where audio people, primarily new ones, but I don't see any reason why the regs can't do their introductions too, of course they don't have to but it'll be there anyway!

I've done some searching and nothing has come up at all, so I'm wondering if it would be worthwhile to start a new one, I mean lately there have been a fairly large number of new audio artists coming to the forums and well. almost all of them will start a new thread to introduce themselves

and I see how everyone, including myself, respond to these threads, with a general run down of the ruling over such an act

So to aide in the clean up of the Forums, I'm thinking it's a worthwhile idea to start a thread for such a purpose, so they can all do their intros and whatnot, be welcomed by the members whom are here etc...

and the forums will be well maintained by keeping it clean :)
