Really? All I want is a cookie... and I can't even get that... X'(

Actually, I'd be happy with a working headphone-input on my comp right now... the left "speaker" keeps on making an irritating fast ticking noise, similar to the one you'd get if you'd attach a piece of paper to a bicycle wheel. Really irritating.

then your computer will start up faster, and shut down quicker, more ram for your garbage, and try using a spectrogram without a watermark

-Decent producing headphones
-Monitor speakers
-A decent producing pc with an incredibly fast processor and shitloads of ram

Then I'd be able to pump out something nice ^^

Right now I have:
-Wireless EU50 headphones
-a laptop with dual core processor, 3 gigs of ram
-windows vista --__---
- a 15.4 inch laptop screen and a 15-16 (not sure) inch CRT screen, which hurst my eyes

But I can kinda work with it. :p

Haha, if I'd list all the stuff I want I'd still be writing tomorrow.

Problem is, I can't work with what I have, otherwise I'd have lots of AP submissions. I can record my guitar, but it comes out crappy because my Equipment is crappy.

There's 10 kinds of people.

pr0ded I don't consider a regular as he hasn't actually contributed anything useful to the overall conversation - to me a reg is someone that consistantly talks that isnt annoying as hell.

I couldnt agree more. Im also getting a little irritated by his actions. This dude srsly got to knock it off.

I guess you're right Chron, but to me, it's just annoying that when my songs are nearing completion, I have to export them a shit load of times to listen if it sounds right.

But ah well, Karco gave me a great tip, easy, but you have to think about it. When you're done with a certain patter/instrument that eats quite a bit of CPU, export that separately and insert it as a sample.
So when my project starts lagging from now on, I'll just do that.
Now to get rid of the frequent crashing of my FL -_-

Latest track: Only a Dusting [Ambient]

I think we should just ignore these new geeza(s) that keep posting a million times on each page.
Hopefully they'll get bored.

In reply to the whole "I want all this stuff" discussion.
My Mac is awesome, fast, runs good, using Logic.
Yet I still make better music in FL on my shitty as fuck takes a year to load up laptop.
It doesn't help much with the overall outcome, it's about you being good or not.

Response to The Audio Forum Lounge 2009-01-16 13:18:20

basically, one can never have enough. For example, with low amounts of ram and cpu - it makes you more conservative as to how you make your songs - and how many bells and whistles you use. With more resources you can use MORE bells and whistles - I know ive already used up 45% of my quad core's cpu (and fl DOES use each core as the song went over 100% on my dual core)

or you could use cubase, i forgot what the term was, but it turns the track into a wav so you dont waste ram

"Professionals" use it because it's considered something on an industry standard. There isn't anything that makes it better or worse because it's used more in the industry than another program.

i like how in fl studio, i couldnt use multiple "fruity panomatics" until version 7

It's at version 8 now so that doesn't matter.

Because it's cheaper than Mac programs like Logic, it's also easier to steal.
You can record live instruments as well as sequence midi, and use audio editing in it.

and why fl studio not considered?

It's geared more towards midi and synthesis, etc.

because it cant tell the difference between a vst etc

Okay.

or maybe its the quality of the sound

:/

it took 7 versions to fix something that should have worked inthe first place

But now it's fixed.
Why would I even want to have 2 panomatics going in opposite directions?

do you epople have fun not knowing what youre going on about

I do tremendously.
At the end of the day, I'm still learning, and I'm not talking down on people about not knowing as much as I do. Sue me.

As for the newb thing. I haven't seen you around here until lately anyway. So I don't care if you're on the second page or not. You're not the only guy anyone is talking about here, y'know.

why would professionials steal it?

you see, a "professional" as you say is someone who makes money with their music, so they can buy things, like prorgrams

so everyone you said after that doesnt need to be replied to

They'd steal it because they're cheap bastards.
There's a studio near my area that use a cracked copy of Cubase. And they make more than enough money to be able to pay for it.

so why arent they stealing fl studio instead? is it because they prefer mac over windows?

The world is like a ride in an amusement park. And when you choose to go on it you think it's real because that's how powerful our minds are. And the ride goes up and down and round and round. It has thrills and chills and it's very brightly coloured and it's very loud and it's fun, for a while.
Some people have been on the ride for a long time and they begin to question: "Is this real, or is this just a ride?"

And other people have remembered, and they come back to us, they say: "Hey, don't worry, don't be afraid, ever,
because this is just a ride." ... and we kill those people.

Ha ha, "Shut him up. We have a lot invested in this ride. Shut him up. Look at my furrows of worry. Look at my big bank account and my family. This just has to be real." It's just a ride. But we always kill those good guys who try and tell us that, you ever notice that? And let the demons run amok. But it doesn't matter, because it's just a ride. And we can change it anytime we want. It's only a choice. No effort, no work, no job, no savings and money. A choice, right now, between fear and love. The eyes of fear want you to put bigger locks on your doors, buy guns, close yourself off. The eyes of love instead see all of us as ONE.

Here's what we can do to change the world, right now, to a better ride. Take all that money we spend on weapons and defense each year, and instead spend it feeding, clothing and educating the poor of the world, which it would many times over, not one human being excluded, and we can explore space together, both inner and outer, forever, in peace.
