For other programs you can hoook up ectric piano and record strait from that onto the program. But i dun have one of those but for fruity loops you keyboard can also be the piano. So can i record strait from the keyboard instead of clicking all the keys using the mouse?

Use automation clips

right click the tempo changer up at the top and click "create automation clip" then open the playlist view or F5, were you arange everything, there is a seperate part near the bottom click there it should plave the automation clip for the tempo, streatch it out, preak the line up into moe segments with right click and move up for faster and down for slower. i suck at explaining it but hope it kinda helps

w
I recommend the free audio editor Goldwave . Just open the wav file in the program, and save it as a mp3.

You also probaly need Razorlame for encoding into mp3 in goldwave if it rejects the save.

i have the demo pak should i buy the real deal or should i practice more cuz i think i suc at makin music IT'S JUST FUN!!! =D

Response to Ask your FruityLoops questions here 2006-07-05 18:52:27

I never used FL myself, but I think, that if you find yourself working on music as a hoby and actually spend loads of time with it, go buy the real deal. I told myself i never wuoold by any software until i could make money out of it, but i realised i do spend alot of time making music, so i bought (reason3.0+re-cycle2.1), what i was using.

Well, if you enjoy it, and spend loads of time just on the demo, then I say..Buy it.. But make sure, if you do buy it, it's not going to a waste..ACTUALLY USE IT.

Ok, this question has probably been posted before, if it has, then I apologize.

So, I have this new used keyboard I've got, and I was wondering, If you can hook it up to my computer, and work with it in fruity loops? Like change the tone and the way it makes the keys sound? Ugh I dont know how to explain it..like, When you press the key on the instrument, can you make that sound different? Ugh...I hope I explained that right enough..

Like midi controller? like use the keyboard to play the selected vsti or samples in fl?

if so yeah, the keyboard has to have a way to conect to the pc, if it came with a usb cable or firewire cable of somesort, compatible.

Response to Ask your FruityLoops questions here 2006-07-05 23:11:28

Double post but oh well, if thats right, you need to goto the options in FL

Options > Midi

Then select your input keyboard...

1."Record" seems to do nothing as far as saving my song as a wav or mp3 on my cpu, but when i use "export to mp3, wav.." it saves the loops i make to my cpu. What exactly is "record" for then? I'm used to Acid 3.0, and when i hit record onn there the track plays while it's recording until you hit stop and it's saved as a wav. Doesnt seem to be the case with FL

2. How do i fade out at the end of a song? I know how to use the PanOMatic to mess with the sounds manually while i have a loop playing, but how do i use it to fade out at the end of a song automatically? When I export to mp3, it just saves the song without playing it, so i can't fade it out when it gets to the end

3. How do I put individual instruments into the playlist? All I can manage to do is paint 1 pattern in the playlist that has all the instruments of my song in it. So I basically have an ongoing loop that i cant adjust by changing melodies, switching instruments on/off at different points of the song, etc...

Record usually for recording with external stuff, like using a midi keyboard, or have a mic input in the mixer and record vocals recording as the song plays out. Just use the export command for saving onto your pc

Like earlyer when someone asked about tempo changes in the middle of a track, you can do the same thing with volume to pan out. Automation clips work all the time. Right click the main volume knob and click "creat automation clip" then in the playlist, bottom section ov the devider click down there it will place a automation clip for the volume, then streach it out, and make a curved line to fade the volume out. hard to explain, and im lazy to take pics, maby i will if you dont get it.

3. How do I put individual instruments into the playlist? All I can manage to do is paint 1 pattern in the playlist that has all the instruments of my song in it. sounds like you made everything in one pattern. What you wana do is make your first pattern, drums, lead or whatever and then select pattern 2, make your 2nd thing, drums lead i dono, and there are two seperate patterns right there. You select the pattern # and make somthing new in it.

Hmm, can you link it up, pic or site or somthing? That would be helpfull

Will somebody answer this question I have...here actually. I posted a seperate thread on it but I want as many results as possible I need help. :(

Response to Ask your FruityLoops questions here 2006-07-07 08:37:01

Thnx alot Feral Fox. I got it

Response to Ask your FruityLoops questions here 2006-07-07 15:27:31

I* found a manual, it says i need a cord and software (comes seperetly)

I might buy it, if someone tells me what type of outlet you have to have on your keyboard. I have a MIDI out, wich sends data to the computer.. would that work? Or do i need a MIDI In or a MIDI Thru?

Second question, Can you add your own beats to Fruity loops? Like if you find a .wav of a god sound on the internet, can you use it on fruity loops some how?

Response to Ask your FruityLoops questions here 2006-07-07 19:01:50

yes you can. what i do, is say i find a bunch of good samples, and i wanna use them in FL regularly, i just put the wavs in a new folder under "packs".

Response to Ask your FruityLoops questions here 2006-07-07 21:09:09

Dont HAVE to put them under packs, you can put them under mostly anything in the Patches folder, or subfolders like packs

you can make tip files to to give you a clue to whats in the folder, so if you have a folder called mkit1 you can make a txt in the directory that folder is in and name it mkit1.txt then in it type tip=metal kits 1 and save, then rename .txt to .nfo

now in FL when you hover the mouse over mkit1 folder it will say "Metal kits 1" in the top panel.

Just a quick tip i thought i would lay down :p

Midi Out and In ports are for connecting external midi devices into to send midi messages and stuff. Cant do much unless you got more stuff or midi conections on your pc lol. Its easyer to have a keyboard with firewire and midi and stuff. Only way your gona get that keyboard connected to your pc is if you have midi conections on your pc, look the same as on the back of your keyboard, or if you got somthing in between so you could simpily conect it to usb and syff, not shure about that.

I really also have no clue what i might be talking about right now at this exact secont and time and place and stuff....slightly drunk =P

Response to Ask your FruityLoops questions here 2006-07-08 19:34:25

Not shir what your askin. You can load a midi into fl and change the midi patches as well as chang them to bettar synths, but if your gona take a whole midi and change it to mp3 and call it a remix please dont bother doing that since it has no skill invalved and not trully a remix. and if thers spelies misaks sorries...im pretty dizzy right now :)
