A small cutsey machine called 'lines' has stayed behind on earth, that is, in the days before the browser even existed! (technically our actual timezone irl)
He holds the codex / messages that would warn the humans of things to come to avert the browser and wars.. but also the machine itself alltogether, pretty much annulating the whole damn thing.
