The streets of Barnsley, England have rattled their cage. Through years of isolation, from the voilent minor strike, high drug use and unemployment, comes Barnsley’s first hip-hop group, RAPCORE. Rapcore is: 17 year old Little M, 23 year old Death Poet, 16 year old Shadow, 20 year old Gella
RAPCORE continue to push back the boundaries and challenge conventional hip-hop bringing their own unique and cutting edge style into the arena. Rapcore are intensely politically aware and provide deep insight into not just the politics of the street but also shine a light on issues such as the secret global government, otherwise known as the illuminati.
RAPCORE challenges the very system that greases the palms of so many sellout rappers. Rapcore delivers a raw, subversive and uncensored narrative on the reality of the financial system that bought-up hip-hop so long ago and turned it mainstream.
No holds barred: Rapcore are here, telling it like it is; not afraid to go where others fear to tread.
With their eagerly awaited debut EP, Yorkshire-based four-piece Rap-core ( and increasing) are all set to join acts like Hoodz Underground,Public Enemy,Roll Deep, Beastie Boys, Wu Tang Clan, Dogg Pound and Taskforce in addition to adding a UK flavour to the musical grey area between the Urban, rock and dance racks in your local record emporium. In their first two years of existence, RAPcore have built a large and ever-expanding fanbase whilst developing a formidable reputation as a superior, in-demand live band within Barnsley and Leeds. Lisa Mafia certainly thought so when collaborating along side her in Sheffield 2003. This sound is tight, irresistibly energetic and highly entertaining, complexes metaphors and mick taking ceremonies towards governments and the world around us. Yes, their shows are filled to the brim with effortless showmanship, supreme stage presence, dazzling dynamics and fierce funk chops! Whether treading the boards in the intimacy of a small club or upstaging a battalion of pop muppets in front of 25,000-strong festival throng, their ability to woo the crowd is truly awe-inspiring. Members include Shadow, Little M, Mr Gella, Death Poet.
