If I had known about this club earlier, I would have joined, you should have adverts and TV commericials >:-( Anyway, I will join this club, because I have no idea it passed me by. Get it? I am funny because I used some names of their songs. Witty is my middle name.

I have to join since I've been a Beatles fan for about 27 years now. Do the math! I do not remember them when they were new...slightly before my time.
In answer to several questions posted ages ago:
My favorite Beatle used to be George for the longest time, but has been John for a while now. I love his outspokenness and sense of humor. Ringo was a physical comedy sort of clown. John had real wit and a way with words.
My favorite song and/or album? That is impossible to answer. I have every record and CD they ever made, along with each and every film. I listen to them daily, usually while driving to/from work. Which record depends on my mood. I adore all their songs from the earliest hits to the final recordings, including the two new songs they did in 1995 for the Anthology.
For the record, the Beatles never had Tony Sheridan as a singer in their own band. They were the backing band for him before they hit it big. They played together in Hamburg and it was there the Beatles scored their first hit as a backing band for Sheridan on the record "My Bonnie lies over the Ocean."
Stu Sutcliffe was a bassist with the band for a while, even though he couldn't play. He was John's best friend and in the band only at John's request. He left the band in 1962 and died shortly afterwards of a brain aneurysm.
Pete Best was actually not the original drummer either. The Beatles in their assorted incarnations over the years from 1956 when John formed his first band had several drummers and rarely held onto any one in particular until Pete, then Ringo.
As for John saying "rich fag Jew..." I wouldn't be surprised given John's love for shock value, but keep in mind that the Beatles' manager, Brian Epstein, was from a wealthy family, Jewish and homosexual. Take what you want from that.
The Beatles have stood the test of time and no whiny little teens listening to bands no one outside their clique has heard of will alter that fact. Even people who do not like the Beatles KNOW who they are and can probably name some of their songs. That is what you call major influence when even your harshest critics know all about you! I'm not saying any other bands are not good, I'm sure they are. Very few, however, can ever claim the same degree of influence and overall popularity that the Beatles have maintained for over 40 years.
I'd love to see this club be active and I hope that it will be.

Can't let this club die.

So simply put: A poll.

Greatest Beatle record and greatest Beatle song.

Record: White Albulm

Song: Helter Skelter

Great idea for a poll!

Record: White Albulm

This is a pretty good album, isn't its real name "The Beatles"?

Song: Helter Skelter

And this is a very good song. However, I am afraid I am going to have to go with:

Record: Sgt. Pepper's lonely hearts club band.

Song: Glass onion (white album).

Anyway, as for something else, I just got the Beatles' last album "Let it be". I have to say that it is not their best album, but it is very good. There are great songs there like "Dig a pony", "I me mine", "across the universe" and more. Too bad it is only 35 minutes long. About the song "Let it be", it is a different version from the one I knew before, the gutar solo in this version is not as good as in the version in "One".

Hehe, I didn't know whether to chose Magical Mystery Tour or Sgt. Pepper's, but finally I chose Sgt. Pepper's.

Song: I Am The Walrus (just cause its my favorite), Hard Days Night, or Sgt. Peppers Lonely...

Again, I didn't know whether to chose "I am the walrus" or "Glass onion", but I chose "glass onion".

It surely was.

When i first got Let It Be i was a little dissapointed with it... It's grown on me over time although i still think its not their best work but i do realy like I Me Mine...

Yeah, I also was disappointed when I first heard it, but after a few more times I played it I bean to get used to the songs and like them. About "I me mine", it is one of Harrison's best songs, until now, I liked every one of Harrison's songs which I heard. My favorite Harrison song is "While my guitar gently weeps" (white album), the guitar solo is just superb.

Yeah, rubber soul is certainly one of their best albums, the best song in this album is obviously "In my life" and "Michelle" is also very good. "In my life' is actually one of my favorite Beatles songs.

It's great to see this club be active again. So many questions asked...where to begin?
1. I've listened to Paul's new CD, but have not really found a song I really like on it. That being said, I like a lot of the solo projects each member of the group did. I especially liked George's "When we was Fab." I thought that was a lovely tribute to what the Beatles had accomplished together and what they all meant to each other. The nastiness of the break-up had faded and the affection that had been there at the start had returned. I also liked "Cheer Down" and "Blow Away" by George.
2. Favorite Beatles song or album? Impossible to say. Their earlier music was so different from what came later that you really need to ask fvorite in the early, middle or late period. For the early period, the really early period, I like "Love of the Loved" and "Memphis." John's version of "Memphis" is every bit as good, if not better, than Chuck Berry's original from the 50s. "She Loves You" and "I Want to Hold Your Hand" can always lift my spirits. Rubber Soul and Revolver are good music to relax to after hectic days, or heck, to wake you up the next morning after a hectic day. For the later period, I love "Across the Universe" and "Let it Be." Both are poetic and simply beautiful.
3. Flashes about the Beatles. There was one a little while ago called "Glass Onion," but I don't remember who did it. It was tasteful and well-done, a very fitting tribute to a great band. Then, there were the Beatles SMUT/SEX flashes, that were utter and complete idiocy and a slam not only to the Beatles, but to flash artists as a whole. I have no problem with parodies and love them to no end. Those pathetic excuses for flash, however, showcased nothing but the maker's complete lack of talent for both flash and content.
I think that answers all the latest questions and anyway, the commentary has probably gone on long enough for one post. I just love the Beatles so much and am thrilled to see some others who feel the same way.

Whoops. It is a great flash, one of the best Beatles' tributes to my opinion, also it is based on my favorite song ^_^.

That makes sense, I thought I was going insane for a bit there.

I agree they are both amazing songs, I would also say that i'm looking through you is probably paul's best song Also i would say that Norwegian Wood is also a geat song.. Or just the whole of that album is amazing and so is verey other one of the later ones apart from let it be.

Just out of curiosity, what exactly do you not like about "Let it Be?" I'd like to know because that has always been one of my favorite songs...or did you mean the album Let it Be?" There are some good songs on that album.

OK, that album has "Get Back," "The Long and Winding Road," "Two of Us," "One After 909," "Across the Universe," and "Let it Be," not to mention "I Me Mine," which got a lot of nods as a really good song. All in all, I think it's one heck of a good album. But that's just my opinion.

If you could make me a Harry Potter sig, I would eternally grateful. I'm into the Slytherins big-time, especially Draco Malfoy, though Lucius is cool, too. I realize that has nothing to do with the Beatles, but what can you do? The subject came up and so I responded. Thanks no matter what. Harry Potter has Voldemort, the Beatles had the Blue Meanies. It also occurs to me that I have no clue how sigs work, but it's probably ridiculously easy.
