Unfortunately we missed our deadline for the Beta launch, which was set for yesterday. However, SK has been developing and coding until his hands start bleeding. We have him chained to a chair in a dark room in an undisclosed location.
We'll be looking towards a March launch, so get ready, because Retrogade is going to come in like a lion!

Quick update;
- We're aiming to have the Resource uploader early next week. This will aide PS users, programmers, and all sorts of artists across the web.
- Staff avatars are almost complete - If you're interested in checking out the progress of 'em; Link
SDGs really has done some great work on them.
- Rocket and me are working out what the users pages and portal pages layouts. We're aiming to have that iron'd out by early March. So Beta should be.. Unofficially...In a few weeks.
Everyone should give rocket a hand for stepping up and trying to do this, it's somewhat out of his area of expertise.
And again like always, if you want to give any suggestions, or even do some cheap mock up in mspaint of what you think a good layout could be, don't hesitate to post it in Suggestions & Feedback.
- User AVATARS! In case you missed it..SK managed to work up user avatars to spice the forums up a bit. With a convenient little cropping tool so you don't need to kill yourself trying to make shit fit.

I would except it doesn't work on Opera nor Firefox. I can't even click the upload button for Opera while Firefox just keeps loading forever for the picture to upload.

I was aware of an issue with Google chrome, but Opera and firefox I didn't know. We're going to have to broaden our testing method to cover other browsers obviously...lol
Could you ctrl+f5 and then try in firefox again. It worked using firefox for us, so maybe it's just a cache issue.

And Bahamut have you tried uploading another PP yet ? I tested with a second account and it worked in firefox. Unfortunately since we're in alpha everything's set up to run off of FF right now. I think it's the better browser anyways...but I know some people ain't fans.

I recall the site going down in April 2007 which we were waiting for the site to move servers but then shit fell apart.
I've implemented a new Flash-based file uploader on Retrogade, so if you've been having problems getting images to upload, go ahead and give it a shot now. At some point I'll install Chrome and Opera for testing purposes, and I'll try to work out the problems with the image cropper. As far as I can tell, uploaded avatars should work even if the cropper fails, but I'm not positive.
Just did a quick test on Opera and Firefox. Opera is all good on this end but Firefox had a minor problem. After uploading one avatar and saving it, when I tried to upload another one it told me I needed to install Flash in order to upload an avatar. Strange.

Nevermind, that's only when the site hasn't had time to upload the flash file. No issues from me apart from that mishap.

Colour me excited. Especially about the Tutorial pages. It's the part about RG that I loved most back in the day. Being artistically crippled, I still had a great time replicating some of the effects in the Tutorial department.

As a pre-cursor to the layout pages that will be implemented within the next couple weeks - We have put in part of the Retronin system to spice up the forums a bit.
You will now recieve $10 Retronin per post for posts 150 characters and more, and receive $25 Retronin for every topic made. SK has added a nifty little dollar sign feature in the post box allowing users to easily determine whether they have made the char quota. (it will turn green when you're in the moneys!)
Once the layout pages are in place you can count on a lot more features to earn and of coarse, spend your Retronin on =]

It's been a long process in the making, however we're excited to see it unfold before our eyes. We hope everyone is as excited as we are! lol
We're learning from the mistakes of old RG and putting the processes in place that allow new RG to strive to succeed.
