true but, and I could be wrong here, I'm sure the artist would prefer a site dedicated to art, even the ones who frequent the art portal here, most I'm sure don't do flash (or there would be a fk load more sick flash coming in) and I know would prefer a place where they can discuss art, methods, share tuts, and the like for growing noobie artists, me personally I enjoyed RG more then NG, my graphic art wasn't anything special, but my flash plain sucked lol
the problem is creating a big enough base. retrogade has some people who are still waiting *cough* for some thing to happen, and with all of them being long time users of ng there could be a sway in pulling people, as well as the prospect of using those artist to create flash to pull people in(ironic ?), also it has the potential in growth by "nurturing" new, inexperienced artists, the same way ng has done with noob flash artists, which is what this site is made of

so with that said, if some one is watching, you know who you are, chop chop lamb chop

I'll take Retrogade over deviantART any day of the week. RG was so organised with art submissions while deviantART is a huge mess. I can't remember if RG did have a category for types of artworks but if it did, it was tons better than what dA provide (i.e. a fucking maze with hundreds of different and unnecessary subcategories).

and when I said this I meant the non-flash artists of NG would probably prefer an art site that had the same type of vibe as NG but isn't a sub-category of a flash website where art isn't in the spot light in any manner
DA dosn't spotlight artists shit in a decent fashion either, especially for a site dedicated to art, but then again there's no way of measuring the quality of art like through a voting system so how could they determine it, other then a few peoples opinions

I should start asking for donations even though I can afford to pay for hosting. Maybe I can make a nice little nest egg for myself with this.

I will also have to agree. I have an account there but honestly I can't stand the website. There's nothing fun about it and RG got me really into art and the community we had was awesome. I miss it so. I wonder if all our submissions and stats are stored anywhere or at least the latter...last time I asked that question SK said they were.

sk once uploaded all the artwork and code on this thread and i think i downloaded them, in fact, i think i still have all the stored artwork if i can find it.....maybe i deleted it. but it was a funny thing that rg became so popular considering josh admitted that he just made it to test his php skills and see what he could do.

oh no he's back in jail. i kept in contact with him for a while on a personal level until he just pissed me off with all his complaining about how none of his life fuckups were his fault, and only talking about jail and the way he leeches off the government getting SSI, but alas, all his declarations about being a new person and changing his way of life was self-serving bullshit.

if you look up the bucks county pennsylvania inmate records, it shows he's still in there with a 25,000 bond that finally his family decided not to pay off. the charge is assault (again)
