I'm trying to get a good feel for an explosion, a cartoony one.
Im tyring to get better at this, my explosion i have now is okay i guess its not a gay noob thing anyway....
I need it to be good, not like dan paladin but it has to b good. this is the explosion i have.
Basically im asking if anyonme knows of a tutorial

wait more then 5 minutes dude. have pacience. it might take like a few hours or even a day to get a decent answer.but as of answering the qustion i think you should just keep working on it and practice.like drawing blood, you can look at all the tut's you want but practice will make it look good in the end.
I made that with no tutorial, i just want a basic idea what im doing lol
I'm trying to work on explosions myself, but I'll try to cook something up. I'll just make an animated gif.
that explotion looks decent anyway.just work on it and fix whats wrong with it. come up with your own idea on how to make explotions. you can look around NG for any tuts but i did not find any explotion ones. you can www.flashkit.com

here's one I made for my mad scientist movie, but I'm not sure if I'm happy with it.
my movie also plays at 20 fps, not 12, so it goes quicker
(anyone know how to get animated gifs to display proper colors?)

jessequest, that looks good. few suggestions. lose the frame fight before the smoke bursts into different peices... it just looks wierd. and make the smoke explode quicker, smoke doesnt grow before it explodes, it just explodes.
