The RCVL (RedCircle's Versus List)

February 2005 Update!

Well, this was one of the most interesting elections in the history of the RCVL. It seemed like there was no "favorite" per se. Everyone was in a sort of a grudge match, and it seemed very hard for any one person to pull ahead of the pack, but it was done. Quite outta nowhere, I must say. Everyone give a warm welcome to your newest Regular.

Congratulations to Eldarion for becoming the newest Wi/Ht? Regular on the first day of February, 2005!!!

EKRegulus and Alkador were just behind him. It seemed extremely difficult to predict this month's inducted candidate, but I think that we all know how helpful Eldarion is, so I'm very satisfied with the choice. Below are the totals for each potential, and it is sorted by number of votes, and then by signup date:

In lieu of the formal rules, there has been a removal this month as well. Baron_Von_Bad_Guy is now retired. In the past, he was extremely regular in this forum. That is the reason he was included on the list in the first place. He may still be allowed to be voted back on the list next month, if he is included in the potentials list.

Thanks for viewing the list, and I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed making it. It took around 5 hours tonight, and with the inclusion of the Audio Mod list that hopefully will be included next month, that's gonna make the time a little bit more, but it's all good. Time well spent I say.

Oh, and how do you all like the new CHANGE column? I think it's pretty cool! Anyway, take care of yourselves, and I'll be heading to dreamland in just a little while.

Ah, I have a comment of my own that I forgot to include. The Change column for every list EXCEPT the Regulars list is monthly. The Regular's change column is based between updates, so it tracks something like 10 days or so. Just letting you know. I'd assume someone would be asking, "Why is ramagi's change different in the Regulars list" or something.

So, long story short, if I update a particular list once a month, then it's change column is updated once a month as well. If I update a particular list three times a month, then the change column will also be updated three times a month.

Feel free to discuss. =)

Hmmm, even though it was I who originally shoved you into the three-times-a-monthlies (ooer missus, or rather, not...) I'd be tempted to say: do a monthly update for the Regulars at election time. Having said that, I don't really pay that much attention to the figures, it's the joiner, leavers and movers who interest me the most - possibly because I'm currently stuck in no man's land behind Yoink =)

So, other comments... Mod list is getting large. Not a hint to you RC, but it would be interesting to see a version of it with the inactives cut out. FDA... I thought he'd always been a mod, has he only just got promoted? Seems strange for him to just now have got the keys... Nice entry level by -Mary- halfway up the list, low BP and reviews, but high posts.

Review mods: wow, I didn't realise there were so many. I suppose a lot of them are primarily BBS mods who have the ability to mod reviews, but don't.

Wi/Ht members... big jump by MPA, me wonders if this list is part of the reason he continues his BPing extravaganza. Must be coming up time for another election before too long....?

Regulars... no position changes except, definitely a good choice in Eldarion. I've had a great deal of respect for the intelligence of his posts since I first saw one in Wi/Ht, and he's always trying to help people to the best of his abilities. Plus, his reviews on RG are something else =).
As for BVBG, it is a shame to lose previously (hyper)active Wi/Hters, but it seems that the majority, once they're gone, don't come back... delteated showed his face for a short while but has been abducted by RL again since then. Looks like I'm one of the few who actually returned as, if not more, active than before leaving... possibly because my AWOL was not my choice

Anyways, grand update as usual, and probably the most interesting election so far, particularly if you include the couple of weeks leading up to it.

so I was right once again. I was tied second so it means that I finished 3 times in a row second O_o. That's a record that I might hold for a long while and I should also try to improve it :P

BonusStage? BS gets an out vote and Shpouiten which is totally inactive or j00bie which can't be active because he's often banned don't get any? You guys are good at voting people in but you are horrible at using your out votes. Baron did post a few times while Pure and Shpouiten are not active at all. Anyway, it's not your fault RC but I still don't like the look of that.

I thought FDA was on the last month list, he should have been I think. Well did have a kind of expected results with the two new additions.

Well there has always been a lot of overlap in that area. I am not going to get into who has been active and inactive over the past year on the list for doing review mod stuff.

I've been really slow at reviewing on RG lately, SDG and Quisty's submissions being purged was a bit of a setback. But I might start reviewing like mad again ;D

Not quite, it's a monthly election between thr current regulars, user with the most votes win entry to the list.

Dude, I wish I could filter the votes, but I can't. If someone votes for someone, I have to include it. Even if it's a joke in their mind.

I would request that people take the out-votes seriously. The in-votes are just as important, but I'm stressing that if a few people use their out-votes on REALLY active people, then there is a chance that somebody will be kicked most unfairly.

What I'll do now, is resend each person's votes back to them, and ask if those are all serious votes. That will take care of the problem.

Dude! Second place (tie or not) is what I earn on every voting process. As long as I got my second position, everything else is fine. :D

No real build-up for us. Maybe for the already voted in regulars, but us, as potentials, just do our best (helpin etc) and wait around really.

If you're talking about Level-Up-Lounger, it's not an alt account. An alt account is a spare account used by one NG user. That account is a communal account available to all in the Level Up Lounge. I know you don't like it, but the idea has stuck, and the account hasn't caused any problems.

As for it being nominated, I have no problem with it, although I can see why it annoys you that it gets votes that could have went to real users.

Maybe it could be added just as an honourary member or something, and anyone could contribute to raising its stats. Someone deposits every day for it, but it has few b/p points.
