Your flash submissions. It's a cumulative average of all votes placed on your flash entries ... just remember that "vote" is relative. Chances are that if 200 votes are on your flash, it has a vote weight over 1000 ... and there's variance between one entry and another. 200 votes on one flash may have a weight of 1000, but have a weight of 1100 on another, due to higher VP users voting on that one.

You need to have three entries you have submitted ... unless it's changed, being listed as a co-author doesn't count. When you have 3 entries, you get a BA. If one has passed judgment, and you have 2 UJ flash, you'll have a BA so long as those stay on. If one gets blammed, you drop to 2 entries and won't have a BA. Flagged entries are still technically on the portal, so will also count towards having a BA and what that value is.

I was reading the Wi/Ht forum and noticed a lot of people wanting to be a member. Since it is only 20 people strong (depending on if there is an election), it seems to be pretty hard to join.

Well, maybe so. It just takes time, that's all.

There is also the coveted moderator title which seems to also be difficult to join. As of right now, there are only 23 mods here on the forums.

Realisticly, both are dependent on how much you contribute to the BBS, but its still fun to see them both in perspective.

So which one seems to be easier to be a part of?

Well... I hung out on Wi/Ht? for around a month and spancker asked me to join. I hadn't joined any clubs on NG BBS up to that point and had no plans to do so, but I liked the mission of this one, and I was around here helping out in topics and making the top 50 saviours list, so... why not. Fairly easy. But again, for ME it was fairly easy. Nowadays you don't get added to the membership quite so quickly, as there are a good deal more than just 8 members (as there were at the time I joined).

And... I'd been posting for about 9.5 months on the BBS, and e-mailing with liljim for a few months, when boom, I come on the BBS and find out I have access to all the mod tools. Just that simple. But since it took more time to happen, I suppose I'll say that being modded is more difficult. :::shrugs:::

In my case, it simply came down to me just happening to impress two individuals with the thought that I'd be a good addition to their group. Didn't try in either case, didn't hope in either case... that makes it a lot easier, if and when it happens, because you're not sitting around waiting for it. #;-}>

Anyway, a very interesting topic indeed. I wonder what would happen to the comparisons if you made me, Dobio, and jon choose teams or excluded us entirely, however.

Don't overload yourself now, updating too frequently will most likely result in you getting sick of the list. People can only gain stats so fast anyway, so frequent updates wouldn't allow much movement in the list. If I were doing it I'd probably update every one or two weeks.

Well, I had said in my earlier posts that there were a lot of people wanting to become part of the WiHt Memberlist. As everyone knows, thousands of people want to become a Mod. I figured that I would show these people how active these groups were. These people were nowhere near the average participation of these two groups, so I wanted to show them "what it took" to be part of these groups. I do realize that there are no requirements to be inducted, but the users in these groups are dedicated members and I wanted people to know that.

The whole versus thing came into my head when I thought to myself, heck, it might be easier to be a Mod than part of the Wi/Ht Memberlist. So I listed it. Then I posted it.

I can't believe you had any doubt at all as to whether Wi/Ht? would welcome a new list, man. O_o A lot of us miss the top posters list, be it format's or Dobio's or Tremour's version, and I know that even though I was never on it and never WILL be on it, a lot of us, including myself, miss KornFreaker's top 25 ppd list.

So a new list is always welcome, as long as it's not insanely lame. Like an attempted whistle ranking list (which, if it has more than Joe, ramagi, the "other mysterious gold whistle" person, myself, and NGling on it, presumably in that order, is... pointless and impossible.

James is right that updating without much time to pass for data to change much is never a great idea, BUT... if you're simply restructuring the list, adding new data TYPES or removing things or shifting stuff around... or adding a new mod or member (such as Qwox), then it's still worthwhile to update.

Do what? Excluse me, Dobio, and jon? I was only saying that in terms of "it would be interesting to see how that affects the totals," not that I WANT us excluded or only on one list. If someone belongs to both groups, they should obviously be on both lists. Besides, they might bring different strengths and weaknesses to either the mod side of the wiht side, depending on their stats.

Yeah... it's especially bad when the two ways of stating something happen to involve vastly different phrasing... such as one using an active verb and the other one using a passive verb, or tense differences or whatnot... and then boom, your resulting confused sentence looks like shit, as mine did.

But nothing is worse than thing/think. I used to fuck that up a lot, and g and k are NOWHERE near each other, and I've seen a LOT of other people do it as well. I guess they're just both so commonly typed that sometimes the brain goes on autopilot and types the other one out. But I never make the it's/its or your/you're mistakes, so... dunno how to explain that disparity. Perhaps it's because those aren't word swaps, those are just basic punctuation, and other people using them inaccurately over and OVER again pisses me off so badly that my brain ALWAYS makes sure to send the instructions to my fingers very carefully. #;-}>

Anyway, at least with "excluse," the exclude versus exclusion difference is just s/d, and s and d are RIGHT next to each other on the keyboard, so it really might have just been my finger missing, too. No idea. ;_;

Yeah, that's really annoying. I think there was one time I almost incorporated 3 different versions of the same thing into one statement. Usually I proofread my posts and emails and whatever, but I don't even know how some of the stuff I mess up with gets past me when I do. Somehow I think it makes sense even though it switches to something completely different half way through.

Most of the time the mistake I make is repeating the word, since my idea changes half way through the statement and I think I already typed what I was then thinking.

An example would be something like...

"Proofreading is something I usually do well is proofread my post before I hit the post button."

Combining "Proofreading is something I usually do well before I hit the post button." and "One thing I usually do well is proofread my post before I hit the post button."

That just gets annoying if you do it enough.

Though the information alone is rather useless, it still is kinda funny.

Yeah...I even e-mailed gfox for permission to use the pentalist style (not that it's copyrighted). Yeah, the top is bolded and italicized for *emphasis*. I was cringing before I hit post, because of the format of the C list. I have a few ideas to make it more brain-friendly :)

I am very glad that you have a list that motivates you. I tried to do more so that people of both groups could get an idea as to how they were doing. Three lists = more fun!!

Also, I thought it would be risky doing a mod list, cause they are the only ones that can lock this, but after I had gfox, thejoe, dobio, and jon post positively, I knew it would stay. Well, 3/4 ain't bad.

A&B: Bold and italics on gfox is fine for the emphasis that he's in the lead on both lists. You should also bold the other people on both lists (Dobio and jonthomson)

Nice work on the formatting. You're right that C is a little wacky, but just a matter of some experimenting to get it in line. As I mentioned in the e-mail:

Portal Awards: Split off the music from portal for when you need it later.

XP rank and BP Rank are redundant when already including the values upon which they are based.

Splitting Blams and Saves into their own categories while still including total BP is silly. All it serves to do is give a +2 categories to Wi/Ht?

Didn't you realise it would only have been a temporary thing? I'm sure Ozcar wouldn't be too happy if I didn't stop being his shadow (I don't even know if he realized I did it in the first place). You should have done a gfox, the alias I had when I joined the club was the one he set in stone in the member list. If you had put my underlying alias in the list you wouldn't have looked bad ever, people would just assume FlGMENT hadn't been around lately... >_> Heh, I guess your only option is to update it again right now!
