Ok, this is the first time I comment under these types of threads because I don't like to leave mere "congrats to all winners"-like type of comments. I prefer to fully enjoy each submission to give a persona opinion of the experience, and by each submission I also mean that A-rated video, which I usually ignore because I am not interested in that type of stuff (don't get me wrong, I am all for live and let live as long as it's legal, adult and consentient).
So I watched each movie and I must say that the two I truly loved the most were "the LAST SODA on Earth: Stranger Scavenger" and "windowpain". I am very glad to see a 15 minutes long animated work getting a Daily Feature and even the 1st place! This shows that even longer projects that are the result of effort and creativity can get a well-deserved spot.
I love the animated horror comedy in a uniquely post-apocalyptic setup rich of vivid colours and cool designs. I also liked a lot the type of movements of the characters, these almost jerky movements fit well with the animation technique used. The seamless blend of different medium combined with these vivid colours are really mesmerizing. I also loved the small details across the animation like the green mouse that can be seen the first time coming out her hole at 02:12. My mind kept that detail in mind and I was right considering how it evolved around the second half of the video. Maybe it's just me but the 3D-like effects on the painted padlock at 13:59 is one of the thing I loved the most to admire visual-wise. It's so beautiful and I can feel with my eyes the metallic texture it has. Plus the plot was really engaging because the more the story went on the more it made you think "why is there no more soda in the world? Is there some hidden secret?" And in fact in the end the video gives you the idea that there is something behind it. The cat scavenger is one of my favourite characters because I like the personality this little rascal has XD
Overall a beautifully-animated work, more than deserving the Daily Feature, congrats! Really!
This was a really little gem because of the gloomy atmosphere, characterization of characters through design, colours, style, music (especially when it progresses through the video) and datamoshing with duplication of d-frames. I love how the image and colors to melt together, giving a fluid yet distorted transition through the concept the video wants to convey and reading from the description this was the result of a dream, makes this video even more beautiful because I love when dreams can be the source of creativity. I personally see this as a videogame too due to the aesthetic is has and chromatic hues. I've noticed the A+ on the girl's papery face, this is a nice add to her traits and the pressure she has to face. I admit I feared at 00:58 but hopefully she was only stargazing as way to ease the repetitiveness of her life and societal pressure. Congratulations, truly beautiful in its short duration! It speaks more than it may appear.
p.s. I love the small detail of "1+1" turning into a drawn stylized set of four squares!
These two were enjoyable to watch, in the music video I liked how the song became more dynamic at 00:34. Nice animation too. In "NuMates (PILOT)" what I liked the most, asides the simple style reminiscent of early 2000s, was the voice acting. Everyone did a great job, really! The lip sync is good, the characters design is simple but makes them easily recognizable. I also like the nostalgic vibe it gives me, first time a simple yet funny video like this brings me an anemoia sentiment^^
Congrats to you all for the job done!
As for the 5th Daily Feature I admit I didn't enjoy at all not because of the fact it's an A-rated video that made into Daily Feature but simply because I expected something better than a mere loop animation of something that doesn't even last 10 seconds. I know the title had "loop" in it but still I am usually not a fan of very short loop animations, I prefer something with more substance. I've seen some A-rated content with much more plot inside them maybe more deserving than this one. Only two good points I liked about it were the animation, fluid and natural, and colours.
Overall it was a really nice daily pick which allowed me to discover some very cool works!
