I have a website which pretty much mostly has flash stuff on it I made
http://jasonbunny.neocities.org
for some reason I also made mirrors of my page on other areas aswell including angelfire lol but yea
i guess just maybe try to make a style unique to ur site or something like dat like what I attempted to do with mines
I love the style of your website, super 90s-esque, you integrating the chatroom functionality is cool too, I would love to do something like that so I guess I'll need to do some research, I didn't even know you could do something like that with flash.

https://jaypedia.xyz/ is my personal website. Coded entirely from scratch by me using plain HTML and CSS.
Also how much does it generally cost to run one? I haven't done much research into server providers and stuff.
I paid about £2 for the domain name, and renewing it each year costs me about £8. The registrar service I use is Epik, I had heard it was good at the time when I bought the domain and it was only a year later I discovered that they have ties to the alt-right :(
I host my website using Netlify. Usually you have to pay for web hosting but Netlify has a very generous free tier which gives you something like 100GB of bandwidth per month. I think if you need to host more than 1 website or you need more bandwidth then you need to pay for one of their higher-tier services, but I'm happy to do that if I need to, I had very little trouble getting my website setup and updating is literally just a drag-and-drop process.
That's what I use, I like my website a lot and I'm very proud of the fact that I built it myself. I have had some basic experience with dynamic-site builders like WordPress and Squarespace, but if you just want to have a basic website just to write your own things on than you don't need a dynamic website like the ones those builders produce, a static site will be easier to maintain and much more efficient for the user as it will load on just about any device very quickly.
(For further reading on the above topic, check out this, this and then this)
I've also heard good things about Neocities, but I've never used it myself so I can't tell how good or bad it is.
I haven't heard anyone bring up Netlify yet, but upon looking into it, the free tier is really generous like you said, I'll need to weigh the two options because now I'm curious why someone would go with Neocities over Netlify, especially considering the updating process is so convenient with Netlify.
Also I like your parodying of Wiki's with your projects that's a smart idea and I think I'll steal it lol

That was my exact mindset for a while too, in recent times though I've realized just how much I hate the dead internet, so if shelling out a couple bucks is what it takes for me to put some personality into my online presence then hey, I got the money to spare

It's got an interactive art gallery, character bios, videos, fan art, some comics, world lore, and links to my socials. I went to w3schools.com to learn all of the html, css, and javascript coding. They make it fun and easy to learn with they're mini tutorials.
Don't be intimidated html it's a bare bones and a simple cave man language and is super easy to pick up and get right. You don't even have to do any maths.
I pretty much have everything I planned on having on there but I want to add more in the future. I was thinking about an art blog, and maybe an interactive wiki.
Thanks for the w3schools link! I'll definitely give it a pour over. I'm relatively experienced with HTML but I've hardly worked with CSS or JavaScript before

This is a really cool idea, I sat on your webpage refreshing to see all the reccomendations... before I realized I could just go to the music page and see all of them. All the blinkies you're showing off are cool too!
Thanks so much for checking it out!! i can make it a bit more obvious that users can click on the left side navigation, maybe I could add an arrow that shows up on a first visit? I dunno, but I'll get some more feedback from some friends online/IRL!
An arrow could work! I was also thinking you could just add a small background to the two tabs, so they stand out against the background and seem more interactable, that way people register them as buttons and not just text, which is what I thought at first.
I got a StrawPage if that's worth something https://m-kirbs.straw.page/
wesleyc.nekoweb.org <-- my website!

Lacking actual content though...
Love the frutiger-whatchamacallit thing you've got going on. Even though it's been in vogue among small websites and designers for a bit I never get tired of seeing it somehow.
I have a website on neocities but it's not finished getting updated so here's a video on the home page that I recorded earlier today for a bluesky post.

I used to use website builders but I found them too limiting so I basically make them from scratch (kinda) now so I can do whatever I want and it's great. It's also good because neocities is free.

I love the look of it, also its cool you use Linux lol. I can't wait to get to mess around on the site once its updated.
My websites here. It’s not a website about my account, it’s a website about my highest scored series on Newgrounds “On Steroids
https://marshiscool.neocities.org/
I'm still working on it a LOT
I've only done a few but for homework deals.
It's boring to make them.
I have my own website right here where I put my content there have I nothing else to provide on Newgrounds.
It's not the most advanced but I did take my time and energy to compose a site; of course I tend to forget tags and whatnot. Therefore I looked for specific tags, be it CSS or HTML on Google and find related info that I can make use thereof.
Uses Neocity as it's base, and from simply observing this whole thread; I see others too had the same idea having their content hosted on there.
It's not completely finished but that adds an additional charm of being somewhat unfurbished.

I think adding a background would help, I'll see if I can fit one in for 'em, thanks!

It's a nice start though, the bottom right of the site says you are using a theme, are there preset Neocities themes that you can format your site by?

https://geartoward.jp.net/ I bought myself a server easily. Paying 5 bucks a month for the server.

neocities doesn't have themes built in. but if you look up "neocities themes" you'll find a lot of them. here's the theme i'm using. it's best to have a basic understanding of html and/or css so you can modify the theme.
im working on one i have bought this of of fasthosts.co.uk but i need to figure out how to host it first, it's called dexerand.com & you can see it here here

hosting incl domain doesn't have to be expensive btw. I've paid 12 euros for the first year and then 6 per month afterwards.
I'm not gonna send it because it's my personal irl portfolio website but you can do whatever

It seems the website is down at the moment, unless you linked it incorrectly
