"As a child, I yearned for the mines"
I havent even gotten past the 30 second mark on this trailer... and I already know I'm going to unironically love this movie. Lmao

Probably a so bad its good kind of movie you say?
sure I'll still watch it
It has a decent amount of that modern movie stink. Hopefully they do the game justice.
The children yearn for the mines.

Is it because of the children yearning for the mines?
I prefer CaptainSparkles music videos to be honest. This looks like a sad joke that was taken too far.
So, I'm giving the GhostBuster 3 treatment. No watch ever.
I could give a shit less about this movie...which is what I would have said two minutes ago before it ended with the youtube thumbnail array showing me an official live-action remake of fucking How To Train Your Dragon was being made. That cannot be forgiven.
I saw a really good fanfic regarding this movie, where Jack is actually Herobrine and Jason Momoa is going to become the real Steve. That'd be a cool twist but I'm not placing any bets on it.

Is this your first video game inspired movie? Oh you naive little pup

First time, huh?
Anyways, when I was a child, I yearned for the Storytime Youtubers.
I think it's fucking crazy how this completely turned over everyone's opinions on the movie. Alderman Hughes was right when he said the public was fickle.
Here, let me emulate the comments for you:
"Wow, they referenced that one meme from Tumblr five seconds in"
"Wow, this twenty-billion-dollar company afforded to clean up the special effects a bit"
"Oh my god, did you guys hear that one C418 song?"
"Wow, more dialogue!"
"Guys, did you see the behind the scenes with Jeb jerking the whole project off?"
I feel like it's just a strategy these days to completely dump expectations from the start and only slightly get the ball rolling, it's as if everybody's lost their sense of self-respect when it comes to media consumption just because it's all they'll get in regard to their childhood getting represented on the big screen because that's when it's "really taken seriously". To me, it still feels like a shitty project with cash grab "Everywhere Actors" and B-rate randos thrown in. This movie wants to appeal to the whole "GAME BUT YOU'RE IN IT" genre but falls flat. Honestly reminds me more of Cartoon Networks odd live action phase from back in 2009. I still think it should've been animated entirely at the least.
Honestly, if people enjoy it, great. I'm not watching it because I'm well aware I'm not the target audience. I haven't played a new Minecraft update since Mojang got bought out anyways and am a firm believer that anything after 1.8 is fanfiction.

If that's how you feel about a video game adaptation now, I don't want to imagine what your response will be with VG movies in the 2000's.
Chances are that the movie will be fine, and probably make its money back, give or take a few million. (Plus with streaming, they don't have to make it all with through theaters, albeit not ideal) I'm not going to bet on that happening, but it wouldn't surprise me either way.
Just stop worrying, and love the bomb.
I don't even like Minecraft but I'm gonna go watch it with a friend because it looks so weird. It doesn't look bad per say. They mine and build the same way as you do in Minecraft so they got that right.
I don’t really get why so many people are saying “the movie looks good now” it still looks like ass the biggest problem was making it live action in the first place and that’s something they can’t fix with this movie right now it just looks like slop
il still probably watch it though for the lols though

OMG, I agree, Minecraft has pretty much sold out here! I've also outgrown Minecraft since the late 2010s and early 2020s. It's been skewing younger and younger over the years and every licensed cross-promotion and content update is only there for the sake of being a cash-grab and to keep kids, diehard fans and content creators glued to their seats!

I wont lie, this trailer kinda sold me on it.

It could be alright
it was ok but I have a bad feeling that it might become the morbius level of so bad it watchable that It become a meme

100%
I only trust one man on Earth to make a good Minecraft movie.
After seeing the behind the scenes video, I can tell that the practical artists and vfx guys are putting their heart and soul into this thing, it’s a shame that the movie’s being held back by the overall corporate stuff

And by overall corporate stuff, you mean Warner Bros Discover run by David "tax write-off" Zaslav himself.
