Closing Thoughts

The big event of the month was Pico Day, check out the winners! There was a massive Pico Day party in NJ organized by @BrandyBuizel with over 300 attendees, as well as a meetup in Dublin, Ireland organized by @Snackers. Despite all the great Pico Day stuff this month, I do still think about scaling the event down to an art contest, like I had been doing before FNF revived Pico. We could have multiple categories, including dedicated categories for character collages vs fan arts focused on individual characters / series. I’ll likely put forth an official plan in early 2025.

In collab world, scottwjsm and DannyGoodShirt ushered in the splendid Sega Saturn Collab, @Creeperforce24 organized the Ghost Collab, @AlexToolStudio assembled the Nintendo 64 Collab Gallery and an elite squad of top-tier animators teamed up outside of NG to create the Rock the Dragon Animation Jam, in honor of Akira Toriyama.

Feature-wise, work continues on back-end overhauls to the feeds and our text editor. The outcome will be improved performance and less bugs, with the expectation of getting some new features in both spaces once the overhauls are complete!
