It's better to be separated, because it's easier to explain your character's story later, and the two together will be a lot of text.

Both of those are taken. Below the monster list, you can see at the Collaberation artists section, you can see who took what.
If you're on pc, I'd use Ctrl + F to see if the monster I'm interested in is taken already.
